  1. Boom! Spoke to the fabricator over the road he's gonna help with my exhaust. My more pressing problem is a carb related headache, I need to fit a new choke(starter) cable. I'm unsure if my carb is damaged as my cable was coiled up and chucked in a bag when bought my bike. Anyone got a photo of the 125 carb with the correct bit highlighted would be really helpful. oh and how do I get corroded bolts off?

    Choking.

So, my Xvs 125 came with a smashed up choke switch and a missing cable, aren't I lucky. I've eventually found replacements, but I was wondering would a car style choke (twist and lock type) work? I've got a bit of flat space to put one in if it does work, plus it's a step forward to decluttering the handle bars.
  3. I was only going to make the exhaust headers out of mild steel and wrap or paint them. Then fit a slip on muffler. Nuts to welding stainless.
  4. I've seen one on gum tree but it went within a day. I might just change the style of my build and embrace its...quirks incidentaly, how do I go on with working out the angles and radius to the bends on the exhausts?
  5. needed something just to nip to work. Theeeen I saw one of these for sale. it runs...when I can get it started. the list is massive. But hey ho. first off I'm after advice on exhaust headers. Feel free to pop me a message.
  6. Just got the bags out...they aren't they best actually. The tool roll bag pouch thing is alright though
  7. I've got a set of panniers that came with mine that I'll not use. They are faux leather and look well used. But the Velcro is still fine. Not sure how they attach though. I'll pop one pictures on tomorrow if your interested
  8. Hello. yep bought my first bike(xvs 125 Dragstar), I can't put in to words the excitement felt, couldn't sleep for nearly 2 days and certainly could pay attention at work, which when your a butcher this sort of stuff isn't very helpful. so, I have long ol' of stuff I need/want todo. I'm asking advice on: *where do i get a workshop manual from? *how do I replace snapped off mirrors *best fixes for massive dents on the nice curvy petrol tank *ive got a 15-20mm hole in the exhaust what's best to bang in there? *if I put after market slip on mufflers (12" cafe style shorties) will I need to Danny about with the fuel air mix. and changing that god awful tail light.. It works fine, it just sticks out like some lurid appendage. thanks and sorry again for newbieness.
  9. Cheers for the advice, looks like I'm getting grubby over the bank holiday.
  10. Hi all, so yes rust. I got under(ish) my bike and its not pretty, there's a lot of corrosion to the frame and the paint is long gone. How do I determine if something needs proper assistance? and best rust removal tips please. thanks hedley
