  1. Thanks.. i had a look and yes I do have an o ring chain. I might buy and try a few different types and see what suits!
  2. This may be stupid question, how can I tell if my chain is an o - ring chain? .... 'Waiting for the piss takers' ;D
  3. Thought I'd put some up, haven't had any time to get some decent pictures of it yet!
  4. Just picked up a leovince sbk exhaust system for £46 p&p! Bargin !!
  5. I will give the Wurth stuff ago then drewpy, use a lot of there products/tools and always seem spot on!
  6. Hey black hat, maybe arrow is the way to go, sounds spot on! I don't want it stupidly loud due to the coppers and all that jazz! I may be wrong, but I think they do systems for 2 and 4 stroke!
  7. Hello all, ive got a dilemma, I want to get an exhaust for my wr125x. I don't know what one seems best? Full arrow system, or bigone? They're both around the same price, £250 on eBay. What would you guys recommend ? Thanks guys! hope I've posted this in the correct place!
  8. Never thought about engine oil! Always a plus when I can get it for next to nothing!! Is that all you use?? I could be being fussy but I always feel that after a day or two it's very clunky changing gears, once I lube up the chain it's spot on, specially first? Although I've heard all yams are the same into first?
  9. Hello all, still pretty new to having a proper motorbike, a wr125x, compared to the mopeds I've had previous! So, I've just used up the last of my chain lube... I'm rather confused as to what brand/type is the best for this horrible English weather! What do you guys use for winter time? I ride everyday about 20 miles or so to work and back everyday so I'm cleaning and lubing up the chain every few days or so! thanks guys!!
  10. Ive tried all types of t-cut, the special white t-cut and normal. I've got most off just a tiny bit left! I think I'm also being over fussy! I completely agree, it's like all mechanics have to have 'snap on' or, strap on as I like to call it. I paid £120 for a 3/8 ratchet and went to halfords and got a 200pc set for £125 with most bits! I've made up my mind and I'm going to service it! Why pay through the nose when I can do it myself easily! Thanks for all the help!
  11. Bloody hell!! I never knew motorbike parts were that kind of money! I must admit I couldn't believe that a 'back street' motorbike mechanic charge roughly same prices as me! £40 - £55 an hour! I want to get a new rear section, as the first time i jumped on my bike, obviously jumping at the bit, my boot had scrapped it. Lovely black mark on white plastic! I've seen them to be few and fair between on thebay! God knows the prices on them either!
  12. This could be dealer talk but when I asked the question about warranties and servicing it myself he said the warranty would be void as a qualified 'motorbike' tech should carry out the work. im having the bike for a few years and I know il loose most likely half of what I've paid so maybe I will just service it myself! £100 for an oil + filter... ridiculous prices!
  13. That's a very good point! I will send them over an email tomorrow during work! Im really starting to debate wether it's worth servicing myself in the future? Advantages are, 1. I know its actually been done properly! 2. Financially i will be better off! Disadvangtes are 1. the warranty side of things as I'm a car mechanic by trade not motorbike! 2. No Yamaha stamp! what do you guys think? Thanks for all the help guys!
  14. good idea! I've made a little note! Luckily enough I didn't have to fork out this time! I tried to explain to the guy that having to take my bike over to Yamaha every time I gave it a clean would be very inconvenient !!
  15. Malleus, All I used was a bucket and sponge! It was flashing slowly.. Just got back from Yamaha and the manager and I had a very heated conversation but he agreed he would get it fixed under warranty, by the time I had a smoke the light was out thank god! His only explanation was water had some how got into the dash and caused the light! thanks for all your help guys!
  16. Hello Jimmy, yes The bikes only done 400 miles! I've called Yamaha in Woking, they don't want to know and have said it won't be done under warranty and I've got to pay! Madness! I tried to explain that i can't get my head around the fact if I wash my bike it's going to come up with faults ! Might go down there now and see what idiot was behind the phone!
  17. Hello guys! im still new to this but I've recently got myself a '65' plate wr125x. Today I thought I'd give it a wash and make it pretty ! Although after I've washed it I've left it running for 5 minutes to dry off the engine and I've now got a engine management light Come up? I'm a car mechanic but have never delt with motorbikes, how do I reset it ?! I've only done 400miles! Thanks in advance guys!
  18. Hello guys! Im Harry from Surrey area and have just got myself my first proper bike, when I say proper I mean in comparison to the little Chinese mopeds I've had previous ! 2015 WR125X! Cheers !
