  1. Lovely weather - I walked into the petrol garage - water dripping everywhere and the lady asks (un-sarcastically) Has it been RAINING? ........

  2. Maybe.. don't wheel it out - start it outside ..................................................or only drive at night.............................. no idea
  3. Ok.. This has been annoying me for a while - has anyone ever seen self adjusting motorcycle screens? As the speed increases they move upwards. I saw a police officer in the US with one but have not been able to find anyone who makes these. Beginning to think I imagined it but I did find a patent for it. http://www.google.co.uk/patents/US7281750 Also came across this which seems pretty cool if that is your thing - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wheelies/wheeliestm-revolutionary-display-for-your-motorcyc
  4. I really want one - but I definitely should not buy one - not for at least a year..... post up some pics and let us know how your finding it. ..another controversial design I like:
  5. Hello and welcome to the YOC - My favourite description of the MT-10 - "The MT-10 is an eye-bleeding techno-industrial abomination, a cacophony of sharp angles and bolts and the odd flouro yellow wheel hub. It's a Frankenstein mash-up, as if the odd-looking MT-09 mated vigorously with the R1, and the offspring looks like it'll get in trouble just because of its bashed-crab face. " -
  6. Hi, Welcome to the YOC. This post has a link to a document which identifies part number prefixs which also tells you what model from the prefix of 9 digit vin number. 16A looks like XT-125J -
  7. Hello and welcome, I was a bit confused about 60Kish - but I assume R is for SA Rands. I have ridden a 2001, 600 Fazer and it was fine.. not much more to say on that really! Did seem to overheat a lot in traffic - which may be more of a problem there - I don't know. For the price I am assuming you are looking at used bikes, which means the choice must be limited to what is on offer locally(?) have you seen a Fazer that is for sale? If you post more details on the specific bike people may have more advice on it.
  8. They were in Edinburgh a couple years ago, they have not been great at communicating the dates I had to find them on news website - not sure why they aren't just on the Yamaha page (unless I am blind - not unlikely) but who knows they may venture further north seen as there is 4 months between last date and one before it..
  9. Just seen that over the next few months there will be an MT Tour. Looks like there may be an opportunity to ride (did not read all, but said for 'new riders' seems unfair!), some places also have stunt show and wheelie guide for MT10/07 (haha) I know some of you are fairly regular at Squires and they are there next weekend. INFO The 2016 Dark Side MT Tour will visit the following venues: 14-15 May: MCN Festival, Peterborough 18-19 June: Squires Café, Leeds 25-26 June: Rykas Café, Box Hill 2-3 July: Saddle Inn, Preston 9-10 July: Llandow Circuit, South Wales 16 July: Bikesafe, Rockingham 19-27 Nov: Motorcycle Live, NEC, Birmingham

    Holy ____

Hope he enjoys being back in jail. Sure that the likelihood of him 'meeting' bikers or veterans in the future is pretty high.. I doubt either are the type to forgive and forget this type of behaviour -
  11. Hi Andy, welcome to the YOC. I have always wanted to have a go on the MT-125
  12. Glad its not worse - make sure you get them - hopefully it is not a rental car or some other crap. Knocking someone off is bad enough but not have the decency to stop is awful
  13. Essential knowledge right there - should be added to theory test - 'Avoid entanglement of dog with wheel spokes' that's where I been going wrong this whole time
  14. That is awesome - too bad there is clearly no filtering there looks like a pain in the ass stopping in traffic!
  15. Well that is good. As I said I wasn't really sure - this was suggested by the place that sold the bike (unsurprisingly!) and tbh I am not really one for reading through contracts etc..
  16. Not sure really if this is 100% true, but if you buy a bike via Hire Purchase or Financing you may be obliged to get it serviced at the dealer you purchased from? (As you don't technically own it until payments are complete or something) What I have been told anyway..

    Barn find

Where are all these barns with bikes in? I found £1 on the floor - that's about as good as it gets here. It is an interesting question. Personally I would say a good price between friends for a found/unwanted 2008 YBR would be between £500-700. (or less depending on damage/ friendship!) As the mileage is so low you could probably get £800-1000 from private sale so is a bit of a weird one.
  18. So just to update - After what.. 2 months they finally got back to me with a letter saying they 'refuse my representation' and here is the CCTV evidence - however there was nothing else in the envelope.. Pretty piss poor so I phoned up - the lady takes the number and all I hear is - 'One moment - where are you, oh your on a motorbike - Yep you defiantly did it' - which I found pretty amusing - then she sent a dvd (free as well!) Turns out I did indeed do it and the pics are pretty deceiving, the traffic and myself are actually moving quite fast (think I am rushing for the light) which I suppose is why I didn't chance going in between bollards and the 4x4. Thanks for all the advice though - I am glad I challenged it anyway as I did not feel what they had sent was conclusive! So live and learn I suppose (Though I may have done same thing last week when a massive 18 wheeler was blocking the junction in heavy traffic give it a couple weeks..........)
