  1. Tried welding but the mesh was too fine and just kept disappearing in front of my eyes. Resined from the back in the end
  2. Finally got the mesh into the sprocket cover. Struggling to find a decent setup for footpegs now. Tried two different ideas and both bombed, got to cut some plate now to try the next before I get pissed off and throw all my toys out of the pram
  3. Not had a chance to put the mesh in the sprocket cover yet but ....Front sprocket spark eroded for locking bolts, rear sprocket on (will be black btw) , chain cut to length and temporarily fitted, wheel and sprockets all in line. This evening has been a good evening
  4. I've got to drill and tap the sprocket to accept the locking plate Def leaning towards a fine expanded mesh
  5. Decided to do something with the ugly front sprocket cover today Before During More or less finished Question is, do I cover with mesh ?
  6. Got to move the light up a little bit but I quite like it And it's orange
  7. I prefer a bit of honesty rather than just pissing up my back. It does look large in the photo but in reality it's about 7 inches long and once positioned correctly against the bars and nestled into the light it will give the classic mixed with modern look I'm going for. It will also offer a little wind protection as well
  8. Right, having been laid up long enough to not be able to do much I have decided to start doing some of the little jobs today. So, off with the top yoke ignition ring (I want to place it elsewhere on the bike to keep the dash area as small as possible) As you may be aware the top yoke on the GSXR is very thin so to put risers on would, I believe, crack it. So I have turned up some spacers top and bottom that should spread the load out a little I have also made a very redumental clock bracket. This will obviously be change for something a little more pleasing to the eye but it will do to take some measurements from
  9. Funny you should say that, although the speed blocks will be staying it will be changed to a charcoal grey in colour On a different note, the manifold and flatslide carb have arrived with my friend in the states. I should have that in my grubby hands early in the new year. Fingers crossed I get away with the inport duty as I've paid $600 for it
  10. Having spoken to the exhaust man yesterday it would appear a Titanium Pie Cut exhause system is on the cards Also ordered the single intake manifold and 40mm flatslide carb from Canada (via the USA as a friend is holidaying over there for Christmas and is bringing it back for me)

    KJS

Yeah, that's the one. Lot of money yes but it's a project I want to be right. I would hate to do all the other work on it to then stare at the twin carbs with a 'what if' in my head

    KJS

Just trying to tidy up the look and offer the lump a bit more go on a project I'm doing (it will have a custom, hopefully titanim, exhaust on it as well)

Before I order from the states has anyone got a KJS intake manifold for sale ? Thanks in advance
  14. More goodies turning up . At the moment its all just a matter of making and bolting together so I can go and get the custom loom and exhaust made up. Then its a matter of stripping down for anodising and / or powder coating. Due to a hernia op last Tuesday I cannot get the thing to work to start welding up the rear subframe but fingers crossed that will change soon
  15. Its actually a grass track one from the bay of fleas
  16. I'm getting quite lucky with some of this. The rear light I had (and was hoping to use) fits the seat unit nearly perfectly
  17. Seat Unit has turned up
  18. That chrome looks great (or it it polished ?) . Nice fast turnaround as well
  19. Well the 160 rear tyre on an SV650 wheel seems to fit. Just need to make some spacers, get a slightly shorter spindle and / or machine a little of the sprocket carrier for alignment Gutted the seat unit didn't turn up before the weekend (hernia op on Tuesday puts pay to any work for a little while) but pleased with the general line on it A wet, windy and miserable Sunday meant I had some things to do around the house. Only really had time to start playing around with the front mudguard (it will be black btw). I think I need to shorten the front and completely semi circle the front and rear. Any thoughts ?
  20. Quickly chucked the thing back together (there will be a lot if stripping down and building back up) to have a look at the effect of the frame cut. I'm more than happy
  21. Out of the 5 items in the two cut down pics I'm keeping two. Lets play a game lol
  22. Well the chassis cutting has started
  23. This is more for the road though and I have access to plenty of Supercorsa scrubs
  24. GSXR750 front wheel with SV650 rear (I race Minitwins so have plenty of SV wheels about lol). Would love to keep the wire but alas these ones are 18" so can't get good rubber for them. Once the build is complete I'll start looking around for spoked wheels but I don't want to hold the build up by waiting
