  1. Thank you for the help. I posted in the new members area and thank you. The other thing is that it looks like and has been brought up is that the 550 cylinders looked sleeved. Do you know if the 1981 Yamaha 550 seca has sleeved barrels as this would be the easiest as well as purchasing a new cylinder head that i have found online. Thank you, Michael.
  2. Hello, my name is Michael and i just received a 1981 Yamaha 550 Seca from my grandpa.I got excitied and got it back home by myself with the chain and rear tire locked up. Once inside the garage I started to clean it up and noticed there were no spark plugs. After letting the motor sit with several different rust breaking oils for months. The motor never did come unceased. I have since tore the engine apart and thr cylinder walls are heavlly pitted. After takking with some people it was brought up to have it bored to the next size, 650, but after posting a subject in this forum it would cost less just to get a new cylinder head. The next question that has been brought up to me is the it looks like the cylinders are sleeved. I was wondering uf anybody knows if they are and this woukd be much easier. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Michael
  3. I aquired a 1981 Yamaha RH 550 Seca. I got it home and found that the 15 years sitting outside it didnt have spark plugs. I fianlly got the motor tore apart and now need help with the next decision. The choice is have the barrels honed to remove thr damaged parts, buy a used undamaged part. The last one is to take it and have it bored. The question is can I have the 550 barrels bored to 750 and then just buy stock Yamaha 750 ring seals and jugs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
