  2. wow that does look so cool what year was it originally ?
  3. i like to keep things original that way they are worth more in the future but thats just me
  4. for some reason i cant get any more photos on. But the engine is completely stock it has just been fiddled with like where the air/fuel mix comes into the barrel the two little 'fingers' if you like have been completely rounded off using a file so it flows through better and that made a noticeable difference, i have also messed with the carb a bit to give better performance other then that it has a dep exhaust system. As for cosmetics i had the frame powder coated and the front forks painted white as well as the triple clamp which i think looks much better. i tried to keep it as original as possible but with a few tweeks of my own. it is actually for sale on gumtree listing :1124412462 where there are better pics too
  5. this is my restored 1988 dt125r field bike. obviously this is not me in control of it its my brother lol im just the mechanic
  6. hi guys just trying to work out my vin on my 1990 yz250 but the only numbers i can find are not long enough. The number on the neck of the bike is 3SP-001652 but there is nothing else vin related, so i cant find anything about the bike. Does anyone know what it means or how to find out the history of this bike?
  7. hi guys just thought i would let u all know that there is a motocross track at west winch called the donk track, the website should explain everything its a really cool track which has just been re-built and it is perfect for pw50's to kx 500's. just have a look! web address: http://donktrackclub.wix.com/enduro-motorcross
  8. the spark plug does get wet i take it out after every couple of mins and dry it though
  9. A few days ago i took my yz250 down to a track and after a couple of laps it started to feel boggy and choked up so i came off the track and after 10-15 min i tried to start it again and it wouldn't start ??? i got the bike home and have taken appart the carb blown it out with air and cleaned it checked the spark and thats good and i have tried using a heavy fuel to oil mix to encourage it to start but the most i have got out of it is 30 seconds of boggy running. The only thing which gets hot is the kickstart lol any ideas?
  10. have you been to the motocross track at west winch its absolutely brilliant
  11. hello my name is Jeremy and i live near Downham Market and i have a 1988 dt125r which sadly cannot go on the road due to having the frame damaged at some point in its life so i have rebuilt it and converted it for motocross. My second bike is a 1990 yz 250 which i am soon going to start to rebuild to its former glory. The last bike is a 1989 yz 250 which i use for motocross but that needs a full rebuild as well. At the moment i have no need for a road bike as i am not old enough so i am investing in all the old yamaha 2 strokes.
  12. thanks for the info, some of the bolts have been drilled and some have been obviously replaced im going to be doing a full rebuild of the whole bike so i should find out more about the bike then. i will go and introduce myself now lol
  13. hello i have just bought a 1990 yz 250 and it has some markings on it which i dont know what they mean . so just above and to the right of the 246cm3 badge on the barrel it has engraved (from the bottom up) PRO-AM and above that it has the letter G with a clearly engraved spanner then a P, above that it has the number 093 ? and at the very top of the barrel it has 68/68 on it.Also on the rear swingarm on the left side it has the markings M GOODING, maby the rider? all of this coupled with the fact it has OHLIN true track front forks, aftermarket radiators which are so long it has a customised exhaust with a indent in it so the radiator doesn't touch! it all seems rarther strange if anyone knows anything about it it would be handy
