  1. Just an update...decided to sack off the convention seat and go for something crazy, decided to mock up a cantilever system with rise joints and a mountain bike shock...this is it so far I also ordered a rear fender from a recommendation on here and it turned out to be a lovely bit of tin, will be cutting and mounting tonight , you can see it on the right in this pic
  2. You haven't got any solo seats you would like to sell? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Ah good, have ordered one and will cut it down this weekend, need to mock it up and presto Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Lol ok no worries I was only looking for 100£ for my new one but no worries I'll eBay it lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Noise, on the seat I'm keeping exact same seat setup but changing the seat as I want brown pleated and padded leather, would you want to buy it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Gazandjen, sorry to pester, is the one you used the exact same as on the link, was the width ok and you just cut length to suit, if so I will be ordering as I really like that look... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Lol, no I didn't but got one off the Internet as needed the wiring diagram off it, save me hours, seat I'm busy with now trying to decide what to do, want to fit mini shock to stop double bounce off shocks and seat springs mix up lol... Coming together slowly hey as I don't wanna rush it and mess it up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. They work alright but they are the wire mesh ones so a bit crooked, but if u got same shape foam they should work perfectly, I'm in the process of getting a 2 to 1 manifold fabricated to take single carb and rid the dual carb set up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Lovely rear mudguard, did you make it or buy it? Would love one that shape for mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi I bought xvs650 off noise on here, I'm busy redoing her to my liking, not massively far as of yet but getting there ( lack of garage and space means I have to work around the wife in the kitchen ) thought I might add some pictures of progress as I know how much I love seeing other people's pictures That's the day after I got her from previous owner, since then I stripped her down to 4 boxes of bits, That is the bike stripped and stored in the kitchen, I then started stripping down the engine to replace the gaskets and repaint in matt satin black I then noticed that it was weeping from the cam chain tensioner housing so I replaced that from the usa for 20£, I then moved on to the wheels and did them in the same black but left the polished lip in chrome ( still busy on rear wheel and hub assembly as we speak) The bike came with a sportster tank so I reinforced the frame at the neck and under the solo seat as I wanted it a thicker grade at 2.5mm, I also welded up the tunnel on the tank to hide the tunnel and attached two plates for flush mounting of tank, I'm waiting for two brass elbows to fit a fuel pipe running outside the tank for retro old school fuel gauge I am going to auto jumble tomorrow to find a better seat and mock it up for mounting, also will be looking for headlight and bars at the jumble so fingers crossed, Sometime this week the frame and all played etc will be going in for blasting and powdercoating Thanks for your time and I will update as I go along Here is what I am hoping it ends up looking: Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks guys I got hold of a Yamaha service manual and discovered it was part of the cam chain tensioner as mentioned aboveboard it's the housing that bolts to the head and into which the tensioner bolt slides in, thank you though for doing the research, I'm on holiday at the moment so getting signal on an island in the middle of nowhere is fun!!
