My wife and I watched it on iplayer last week as we missed it at the cinema. Very sad indeed, but by jove, did Robert keep going or what. I tell you what though. If you can say you didnt at least have a lump in your throat by the end, then you're not human. On the subject of Tuxworth stories about Joey, I'll always remember the one where Neil said the boss of HRC was visiting, and wanted to meet this Dunlop fellow, so Neil took him to Joeys caravan, where there was a factory RC30 just leant up against the caravan and the carbs from said bike hanging on a washing line. The boss of HRC was dumbfounded. I Bet that was a picture.
  2. My short but sweet list and the years they happened: Honda Melody Deluxe (1993) RXS100 (1994) TZR125 L (1995) VFR400 NC24 (1998) YZF Thundercat (2000) Daytona 955i (2008) YZF Thunderace (2010)
  3. Exactamundo chief, never been my cup of tea. Wouldn't mind finding out either, whether there's a "local" group on here from my patch, that way, I might be able to get out and put names to faces.
  4. Tried looking for Wiley Co, to no avail. Just had the holes in my OE system welded up, so will paint the shit out of it and see how long it lasts, and have maybe a set of stainless sandys waiting in the wings, or from another UK manufacturer whom I've been in contact with.
  5. I'm hoping to get them welded up this week as it happens. They didn't look that bad, but one downpipe was worse than the other 3, then holes appeared. I don't like my things looking crap, that's why the pipes were off, to give them a tarting up. Ended up with more work than i'd bargained for. I may bite the bullet and get a set of the sandy ones, for as and when the OE part gets too fucked to be rescuable. For the price, it doesn't look bad, although I've heard stories of fitment issues, but then, you will always hear bad before good about anything.
  6. Cheers Dirty DT, I had spied them shortly after. Though I'm a little sceptical about ditching the exup. Looked up the Delkevic pipes but they are now discontinued.
  7. Hi all Just giving my Ace a good going over and one of my jobs was to get all the crud and surface rust off my exhaust system and give it a good spray to keep any more corrosion at bay. Having just stripped out the exup valve and given that a good decoke and polish, imagine my disheartenment when the wire attachment on my drill just uncoverded a 3mm hole in one of my downpipes. So I wondered if anyone of you chaps knew if somewhere like racefit et al did new systems that kept the exup valve? Failing that, i'll have to finish getting the worst off and see how much of it needs welding.
  8. Cheers guys. Noise, all football references will go over my head as I can't stand the game, so don't care if you're blue, red, white, purple, brown or German, I'm all about bikes.
  9. Welcome, i'm new on here too. That is the same colour scheme as my 'Ace. HH sintered are great as I use them on mine, and used them on my 'Cat too. Never had an issue with them on my discs though, not ever. Enjoy the forum.
  10. Hi all I'm new to this forum and found my way here via an article in Practical Sportsbike magazine. I've been riding since '94 ('93 if you count the honda moped) when I bought an RXS100 off a friend. I passed my test on that in '95 and bought a TZR125L in september of that year. In '98 I bought a Honda but was back with Yamaha again in 2000 when I bought a Thundercat, which I owned for 8 years and done a lot to and put a few miles on. 2008 saw me sell the 'Cat and buy a 955i, but 2010 saw in the Thunderace which I have today. Other hobbies include Radio control cars and helicopters. Recently moved so DIY is also on that list. No need to be gentle with me, as long as there is plenty of lube, lol. I'm sure you're all a friendly bunch. I look forward to having a nosey round.
