  1. Ooh nice one Drewps . Good bike if well maintained . If you buy it and don't like the bluespots I'll have 'em for my LC,lol , Best o' luck !
  2. Is the outer basket notched badly ? Are the bolts in the basket the correct length ?
  3. An old retired ex-prostitute was giving an interview to a young journalist during which she described her "career" , and the history of the trade in the local area . " Were you ever picked up by the Fuzz?", asked the hip young journalist . "No Sonny", she replied , " But I have been swung around by me tits a few times !".
  4. Did you make any changes to the idle mixture screw settings ? generally you should note the position of this before removal and ensure it is the same after refitting . you should have a little slack on the choke cable to ensure the choke is not being activated when it shouldn't be .
  5. I whacked my right ankle off the left hand rear bumper of a Fiesta one morning at around 1990 or so . It's still not right and I'm not holding out much hope that it ever will be lol ,( heard a crisp ripping noise when I rolled it while in the Himalaya , but it's because it was weak from being never healed properly}. You can buy new bits for a bike but......
  6. On further reflection , it's probably best to take Cynic's advice . (I've a load of old niggling injuries that never quite healed properly )
  7. Hi Terry , I don't know much about electrics but if you try here - http://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/ . Theres a thread for aircooled RD's and I'm sure someone on there will have more specific knowledge . Best of luck ! (I can't wait to get my 350LC on the road !!)
  8. If you can stick the pain go for it . Just don't enter any freestyle Moto-X events .
  9. Yep , it's all the little bits you have to buy new that bump up the cost .
  10. Doesn't matter how much you spend on riding gear . If you spend a wet day in the saddle , you will get wet . Best jacket I had was a "Clover". I can't remember who made 'm but it stayed waterproof for years .
  11. Yep! You have to be more than careful out there . Even when I see another driver looking straight at me I'll assume he/she is blind , stupid and a homicidal maniac , and ride accordingly . This philosophy got me through 20+ yrs as a motorbike courier in one piece . Don't get me wrong , I'm not a "nervous nun " on the bike and I like to ride fast , but the amount of times I've seen bikes come a cropper at junctions because they had right of way and assumed idiots in cars would respect that . Bleating about right of way won't do you any good when you are on the deck in the rain injured . Keep it real kids !! Kev.
  12. Just check that your flywheel key hasn't sheared man .
  13. Looks good to me . It'd probably be a lighter colour with a proper chop , thrash away ! lol!
  14. I think the 550 was sold as the "interceptor" in the States . Mate's Dad brought one home . I got a rip on it , think I was 15 or so . Thought it was the biz ! lol The VT's had those brakes too , they were a nightmare .
  15. Fuckin' Bastard!!! I hope he dies screaming ! And every numpty feckin' Gobshite that drove past while you were on the deck On the plus side , I wouldn't worry about the cosmetic damage , from the looks of it your knees weren't going to turn any womans legs to jelly anyway ! lol. Seriously though , glad you can tell the tale Grouch , get well soon . And go to the copshop and report it rather than wait for them to get round to it . I hope they catch the scumbag bastard !
  16. The teacher asked young Billy to form a sentence using the word " Contagious " . Billy thought for a minute and answered - " When my Dad saw the decorator coming up the garden with a 2 inch brush he told my Mum that if he's gonna paint the ceiling with that, it'll take the contagious ".
  17. I think you're correct Alex . Check your fuel petcock is sealing properly , then float height and the condition of the float needle and seat . Best of luck !
  18. The blueing is a sign that the bearing has overheated . Maybe due to a low oil level/starvation or wear and tear .
  19. You could roof over that corner with some corrugated perspex. Best o' luck with your new gaff !!
