  1. The YBR doesn't have a kill switch. New CDI arriving tomorrow. Lets see
  2. Hi all Wondering if someone can help me out here. Just replaced the ignition on my YBR125 (carbed model) and now the spark plug isn't sparking. Replaced it, still no spark. I'm suspecting that either the coil or the CDI has gone but I'm not sure how to check it. Don't know if I was testing it right but I seemed to be getting power into the CDI (hovering around 10 volts, don't know if it was a bad connection or what) but couldn't get anything at the coil. I really don't want the CDI to have blown because that's probably the most expensive part of the electrical system.. Seen a few reports of problems with the spark plug after changing the ignition on this bike, something to do with it being wired up wrong. The ignition does come on, all lights on, engine turns over on the button but no spark. I'm stumped. Thanks in advance
  3. I know that I tightened the bolts in the correct order Just too tight... As soon as I snapped it then looked at the service manual and realise how loose they were really supposed to be, I loosened the rest off. As far as I can see the stator cover is fine, I just need to remove the broken bolt. I'm still unsure if there's enough sticking out to remove myself, haven't checked yet
  4. Yes, it was totally my fault, I was idiotic and never bothered to check the service manual for torque settings... I changed the gasket on the stator cover (left side of the engine) because there was an oil leak. As I'm tightening the last bolt, snap! The only replacements I can find are part of full engine bolt sets for about £65 and I don't want to replace every bolt in the engine just because I was stupid and broke 1... Does the replacement have to be identical, or will any steel M6 50mm work? It's a 2006 YBR125 Thanks
  5. This is the best I could get with my phone sadly
  6. That does sound about right. I have a mate who rides an SV and his regulator rectifier went faulty, and it caused the the dials to start going crazy and stopped the bike from starting, had to be bumped.
  7. Hey My bike has had an oil leak for a while now and for some reason it's taken me till now to find where it's come from... This picture shows the sump plug at the bottom, and you can see the oil running down from just above it. Is this an easy fix? I was hoping it would just be a gasket somewhere, apparently not. 2006 YBR125
  8. Being a 2006 model it won't have a kick stand (if it's the same as mine) so that can't be the problem. When you turn the key, does the neutral light come on and dash light up as normal? If so then it would suggest a lose connection somewhere between the starter button and the motor. Either that or the starter motor itself has developed a fault
  9. Finally got round to getting this sorted. One of the previous owners really messed up the clocks, 2 of the bolts that hold the whole assembley together are missing, they are blanked off. Went out and bought replacement bulbs then realised the speedo uses 2, not 1 like the tachometer... So half my speedo is lit up. However I also replaced the one in the headlight, and only just realised that the headlight was always supposed to come on with the ignition.. Anyway, glad I can finally ride at night without problems
  10. Hey all I've had my 06 YBR for quite a while now and the lights for the speedo and rev counter have never worked. It's never caused an issue as I only tend to ride during the day time but my MOT is coming up and I've got a feeling it will fail with no dash lights. Was just wondering if anyone here knows which bulbs the YBR clocks use. The fuel gauge light works, by the way, so I'm not sure if that would suggest blown bulbs or a lose connection. I'm thinking I'll try changing the bulbs, failing that, I don't have a clue, I'm rubbish with bike electrics. Or if anyone knows of a tutorial or manual that explains how to pull the clocks apart and fault find, that woudl be good. Cheers
  11. Sorry everyone I've been dealing with various other problems. Yeah, my bad, it is only 1 relay. Is the headlight also controlled by a relay? Because my dipped beam (always on) takes about 20 seconds to come on after starting the engine.
  12. Since this thread is active again I'll update on what happened. Simple. Bought a DID chain and sprocket kit, and a friend helped me install it. Checked the tension and I'm keeping on top of lubing it.
  13. Hello all I am searching online for a new pair of indicator relays for my 06 YBR125, since there is a 1-2 second delay when I press the switch. I know it's the relays because they make a loud squealing noise before they start clicking. You can also feel it if you take them out while you press the switch. Pretty dangerous if I need to indicate quickly. Only problem I'm having is that they are flippin expensive! This is all I can find online: http://www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/indicator-relay-yamaha-ybr125-2005-2006-p-247543.html?gclid=CN2LxcK4770CFdShtAodl2EA3Q 15 quid each with about 5 quid delivery, that's 35 quid for a couple of relays. Bit extortionate for some simple electronic components. If I have to pay it then I will, but does anyone know anywhere that I could get them cheaper, or a compatible alternative? They seem to be different to what I find if I search for general relays. Thanks
  14. It was extremely slack. To the point where it flopped around and you could pull it down about 15cm. The garage told me that was exactly the reason it came off and that there wasn't much risk of it happening again after they'd tightened it. They said the fact it's old didn't help but I've got time to get it fixed before I'm at any major risk.
  15. Thankfully yes we managed to budge it and get it back on the sprocket, took us both like. There's a bike dealer at the other end of the bridge where I broke down so he followed me behind in case it happened again and the garage tightened my chain for me for free. They did say I need a chain and sprocket kit as soon as possible though so that'll be something I probably get next week.
