  1. Greetings bud, great machine loved the one I had, but now got the custom version and love that even more.
  2. Unfortuantly I never got to ride with my dad who rode all his life as we lost him before I was old enough to ride, so when my daughter who's just passed her test suggested we go for a ride I jumped at the chance. We meet at Chipping Norton which is about one and a half hours ride for each of us had a pub lunch and then spent several hours riding around the cotswolds. It was brilliant, the sun shone the roads were quite and seeing my little girl (alright she's 30 but still my little girl) ride safely and with confidence was a real pleasure. Ended up back in Chipping for a cream tea (why do dad's always pay) and then had a leisurly evening ride home. I've been for a ride with my youngest son, now if only my eldest boy who has recently bought a 125 would take his CBT maybe all 4 of us could go for a ride together, now that would be magic.
  3. On Wed I was riding alone the M40 on my way to meet my daughter, I was in the outside lane following a Discovery doing about 80 when suddenly the car in front of it flipped sideways, somehow the discovery swerved and missed it by inches and was fighting for control in the middle lane, as luck would have it my exit was coming up and I was already preparing to move over to the inside lane so I gunned it and went for the safe gap that was there as utter mayhem unfolded behind me. It took a quite a while for my heart slow down and my bum to stop twiching, I like to think that it was quick reactions that saved me from being toast but really it was mostly just plain fucking luck.
  4. I was in Ashbourne last week camping with my eldest and my daught in law and her family and we went to Matlock on Friday, must have seen you as I was there most of the day. Must say I did like the look of some of the roads around there, hardly any traffic compared to the grid locked roads of surrey, I must make a return trip but on my bike next time. Sorry to hear of your shite year, your right about there being no training but sometimes just being there helps, when I lost mrs meat who was relatively young I was totally lost, most people just don't know what to say but a few just sat with me and gave me a hug while I just rambled on, it didnt make all the shite go away or make the world fair again but it did help if only a little.
  5. You bet slice, proud as punch thats a 2010 Gladius 650 blackie the same as she took her test on, not the reason she bought it but at least its a bike she's used to. To true bipps but she must take after mrs meat, she rode bikes until the kids came alone, in fact it was mrs meat that got me back on bikes but sadly only got the chance to ride pillion with me a few times.
  6. After my daughters 125 was stolen a few months ago she decided not to replace it but instead went for her full licence, started training on a 650 in early July and passed her mod 2 in early Aug. Yesterday she rocked up to the family camp in Ashbourne derbyshire having ridden for a couple of hours in the rain not in her battered old car like we expected but on her new bike that she got the day before. Man that girl was buzzing.
