  2. Firstly, my apologies for restarting a "derailed" thread lol. Dispute being pretty new to a bigger bike, my other half is quite excited at the possibility of going for a few pillion rides. Obviously I'm pretty nervous about this, as I know lower speeds will be heavier handling and I'm likely to have a death grip locked onto both sides of my chest. Vulcan death grip comes to mind
  3. Thanks guys. I've only racked up 190 miles so far from new. I figured there would be some getting used to to it involved, but didn't expect hip pain. The 125 was really comfy for short trips and nippy but a total ball ache on longer journeys. Yeah cramp and a lot of aching in the hips involved after longer rides on the xj6, but at least my delicate squishy parts are no longer squished on the big bike
  4. Hey all, have just in the last few days upgraded from a ybr125 to an xj6n and although I'm totally loving it, I'm finding my hips ache and on occasion feel like they are gonna pop out of joint. One guy I work with (also a biker) says it's probs just a settling in thing. And come to think about it had similar issues when I started riding the 125. Any suggestions? man up!, give it time, bulk up you skinny git, Maybe a riding position issue?
  5. thanks everyone. picked up my new xj6n today, super fun even at low'ish revs(bedding in). totally pissed it down today with a few bolts of what I presume to be lightning (at least I really hope so!!), don't fancy loosing my licence, altho I have been keeping to the speed limits . might have to go have a second look around there tomorrow. all in all a good first ride 80+ miles pootling around, it even ended up quite sunny and mild. good day for bikes, bad day for my buddys iphone pocket swim session
  6. silly me. I'm local to Cheltenham/Gloucester area. there are quite a few really nice routes heading out from here into the countryside. but as of yet haven't got round to riding too far out of the county
  7. preparing for excitement

  8. hi all, im obviously new to the club lol. ive been riding a ybr125 for a year or so now, and upgrading to an xj6n very soon. it would be cool to meet up with other riders and get out to some of the bike meets some time. im totally to be joining the big bike club, and cant wait for the nice weather to come back round again. if I see you about i'll be sure to give a wave. well... ive run out of things to say for now
