  1. Nice change up I have the same bike slightly different, Do you know the jet changes that need to be made for the 3 into 1 header upgrade ? I have cut offs on the one I just picked up for $500 and I am doing a new rebuild , I like the bars you put on yours yeah the mini Apes are funky looking
  2. Does anyone know the specs for upgrading or changing the Jets when the exhaust is changed ? I have a 1979 Triple and it has cut offs on it now and I don't think the jets have ever been changed but I need the specs to find out. And I am considering putting the 3 into 1 header on and will definitely need to change the jets up I believe at that point !
  3. Thanks Drew I am going to try it asap. I did spray carb cleaner in the carbs when I first got the bike while it was running and I added seafoam , TO help clean out the lines and carbs as well ! I will get back and let you know what this choke while reaching 5k and over and how it reacts ! Good place to start !
  4. I have a 1979 Yamaha XS750S which I have recently purchased, I have changed the oil , and filter. Put high octane gas 92 in the bike and now I noticed when I get up to 5000 RPM and over which is way before redline the bike starts to sputter and choke, As if its not getting fuel it begins to cut out. I am wondering what areas to address first and if there are any veteran mechanics on this site please advise me as I can not afford to send it off to the shop they will rape me in hourly wages to do any sort of mechanical repairs ! Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Dave
  5. I have joined other forums in the past which were related to the vehicles I own and work on frequently, I have always found them to be very helpful especially since many of the other members as either more advanced in the repair work and knowledgeable, or they have experienced the same issues and provide various ways to remedy the problem. I am quite sure I will find tons of useful information here as well as a few possible friendships. OHH Yeah by the way my name is Dave and I have a couple of vintage yamahas listed in my profile and am currently restoring one of them! the other the 650 GSE I have promised to sell to my stepson.
