  1. Hi guys just checked the valve clearances on my XJ600. # 1,2,3. Inlet are 0.09 to 0.10.mm #3 Exhaust is 0.30mm. I need two 2.60mm 1x 2.70mm 1x 2.75mm The Shims are 25mm wide. Tried eBay but no joy. Dose anybody know a good site where I could get the shims. Cheers Mel.
  2. Ha ha very good man. Thanks for the info.
  3. Hi guys . Need a bit of advice. Have a 2000 xj600. When I go out on the bike if I hit a grove in the road our where they have been doing road works. The bike twitches on me . I have put new rear wheel bearing in and new spindle. I have put new steering head bearings in . Had the bike up on the Main stand grab the swing arm to check for any free play and it is ok. I can't think wat it is but it is dangerous if I am going at high speed and hit a grove in the road. Can anyone advise Regards Mel.
  4. Hi Guys . Gogleed the part number for the rings . Got a site called Partzilla . Got the rings for 30.15 dollars which works out about £18.00 So just went ahead and 4 Sets . So when I rebuild the engine it will have new rings. Happy days can't wait to get the twat back on the road. Mel
  5. Ok Cheers Bud. Will google the part number and see what comes up.
  6. HI Preload. After Honing the liner it is measuring 59mm.The original Bore dia was 58.505 to 58.545. After checking the ring gaps they are outside the maximum dia. So will have to fit over sized rings. Have tried EBay but no joy.
  7. Cheers Pal. Tried EBay .don't have them for my model.
  8. Hi Guys. Pulled the engine on my XJ600. Stripped it down only to find one of the cylinder liners was scored inside . Honed the liner now spot on. Phoned Yamaha and they are Quoting £40.50 for a set of piston rings . Dose anybody know where to get aftermarket piston rings . Cheers Mel.

  10. Hi Guys. As it turned out the ignition coils where both all right . I got them re tested. Left the bike into a proper bike shop while I was away. It turned out to be the throttle position sensor and the CDI Unit. The shop is testing a spare CDI Unit tomorrow to confirm if mine is fecked. Will keep you Posted on the outcome Mel.
  11. Hi Guys thanks for the info .But I am going away this morning with work for a month so the bike will have to wait till I get back home. Yep both coils are kaput I took them to a garage and he got the same outcome as me. Just me fecking luck. Cheers Mel
  12. Hi Slice. It looks like I will have to pay £216 for two coils. Was looking through ebay spare parts. I think I could get a second hand pair of coils at a good price but are they of a good dealer. Then how long will they last for. Now I know why these cunts are stealing bikes for the spares because there is big money in it. Its a lot of money to fork out. But if I buy them from Yamaha I know they will last.
  13. Hi DirtyDT thanks for the info u where spot on about the ignition coils. Pulled both coils off and tested them with the Multi meter. Both coils fucked. Priced new ones only £108 each fuck me I was not expecting that price. One thing about the XJ6 nice bike but the parts are expensive. Cheers Mel
  14. Hi DirtyDT thanks for the info about the coils. Checked the Starter relay / Starter cut off relay as per the Manual but they are working fine. I will check the coils . Mel.
