  1. The graphite spray, can I get that at most mechanical supply stores? I've got a premier supply store around d the corner. Thanks noise, I won't get a chance to look at it till weekend but will keep you in mind.
  2. Thanks for getting back to me, control cluster (i was trying to think what to call it ) ill whip it off and have a look inside, should i spray some wd40 on the innards or may that make things worse?
  3. Hi folks, not been on for quite sometime but now I need to bend your ears. Following another successful mot my Draggy is having issues with the sliding switch that controls the headlamp and rear light. The bulb is new and connections are clean and tight, the sliding switch however can be quite tough to slide across. The outcome of this is i have to spend some time finding the balance so the headlamp is on as well as the rear light. As i slide the switch across it seems to swap between having one or the other on until i find the "sweet spot" where they are both on, it will stay like this until I turn it off again. Question is, would i have to replace the whole handle part or is it just some innards that need fixing.replacing. Thanks for your time folks.
  4. Cheers for that, im only on 17k and changed rear wheel last month and jacked the arse up high so i didnt need to strip the bike, all seemed fin. Can you post a picture of what exactly we are looking at.

    ooops

I feel for you Dude, nothing like that to get the blood boiling!
  6. That's the problem, particularly mornings I find the quality of driving found on the M20 is appalling with little to no situational awareness.
  7. I've just heard on the idiot box that they have decided to make middle lane hogging and tail gaiting a driving offence. This is great news and I think will be welcomed my most. I am a little concerned though over the implications of this, are we now going to see more and more cars ducking in and out of lanes because they don't understand what over taking is and what middle lane hogging is. I tend to stick to inside lane myself and have a right old time dodging people "pulling in" into "empty" (me) lanes which either forces me to back off into the car behind (now causing him to tailgate me) or have to pull out into middle lane to get room (look, now I am a hogging the middle lane till I can find a spot for me). I just feel that this could cause an increase in this behaviour and more problems for us (the invisible few) who actually enjoy riding and the challenge of riding well on our atrocious roads. What's your thoughts on this? link to the story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22784983
  8. I never thought of about the fair weather riders, a good point. It's a great feeling when you get a little comraderie (sp) from a fellow biker, much like my days in the old vdub camper although that was usually mad waving.
  9. Good afternoon all, i hope your all getting your fair share of this sun at the moment. I have noticed recently that there seems to be a lack of "The Nod" greetings between bikers. Has anyone else noticed this or is it that peeps just dont like us cruiser types i definetly had more on my El Bandito. I have had a Leg wiggle in the past week but he might have just followed through :{ Just a thought......
  10. I think i will make that my Sigy once im allowed one
  11. Hi there, sorry to hear of your troubles there. When you drained the oil out did you go through it to see if there were any foreign bodies in it? If something is drastic they should show up in the drink. Also i know it sounds silly but have you got loads of tools in your hidy hole, as these can make odd noises as they clink together.
  12. Hi there people, thanks for the welcome. Bandit 400 very nice nippy bike, i have not seen that many of them around of recent. As for my 600 its a case of full strip and re-build (possibly new forks as seals dont last long on them so prob bent) or sell it but it needs alot of work as i bought it with a dodgy home job seat, cracked fairing clips, leaky oil cooler and pipework. arrgghh the list is endless.
  13. Well i had a looky, pulled panel off, watched as i pressed the go button. Sparks flew between the red and black terminals on the block next to the battery (2 thick cables and a plug with 3 inputs). Next i disc batt, and pushed away the insulation rubbers of suspect terminals, and that my friends is where i found the blighter. Like a Gremlin with a wide grin on its face it stared right back at me, the black cable terminal was "LOOSE"!!!!! quick as a flash i took off my T-shirt, donned my already black from grease vest (thanks kent roads for the donation of oil for my shirt) and screwed it back on tight. VOILA!! It starts EVEN when wiggling the wires!! Disclaimer : any and all terminology used in this write up could and probably are completely wrong.
  14. Hi there, My names Neil and im a dragstarHolic! I live in Kent with me wife and Ickle boy and 2 grumpy old sausage dogs. Ive been riding Motorbikes now for a number of years as my primary source of commute along the M20. I have recently purchased an old but low millage Dragstar650 which i am loving cruising around on (gave bandit up due to back problems) for work and leisure. She has carried me through many a localised flood and even through a wild marauding Stag ( well it had antlers and it hurt like..... alot). Ive not had any real problems with her mainly the fuel cap falling to bits in the tank (yep that was funny), my paniers slipping over (badly installed) and melting on my exhaust, and i had to re-do the signal lamp connections. I have also got to replace the shaft drive spigot gaiter as it has perished so much it fell off whilst replacing my rear wheel. All in all she been a good little beast, comfortable and reliable even while riding thorough the heart of last winter (probably the last time, getting to old for that). Oh i like chinese food, old and new rock music, playing mmo games on the pc, taking the boy to the park (and flying my.... his kite). I have an excerllant sence of humour (hey i used to muck about with vw campers - you need it) and love going out for a beer and laugh.
