Mostly because it was all I could afford at the time (second hand at £300 - had interview with the bank manager for the loan!!). I had just started work from leaving school. Passed my test on it (twice round the block and emergency stop............) then the 125 law came in, so managed to buy the Superdream cheap (£795 new) as the dealer had a stash he couldnt shift! Happy days!!!

Go on then - it would be rude not to frighten you all................. Me - 1980- my first bike CB100N - I was 17: Dad had the XS400 at the time........... Then 1982, with the French girl who is now my wife, in Salzburg, Austria - CB250NB - we married there exactly 30 years later: That's it - horror show over..................

I have done it a few times over the past couple of years - but always on a Pan European!!!!! Trust me - there is bugger all of interest along the route!!!!!!!!!! It has to be one of the most boring journeys in GB............ Full respect to you guys contemplating doing it on sub 400cc bikes................

Been in the diary a while - I'll be there on the XS.........even with a leaky fork seal.... oh well.... Hi Drewps - sorry not been about much. So much work on - but have been having a blast on the XS on these balmy evenings!!!! Still going strong, but I really must sort out the leaky fork seal.... BTW = do you still have the rack you once had fitted to it? If so and you could bear to part with it.......how much??? Hi all, WELL - what a weekend...........hottest few days of the year so far, and only one breakdown of note (holed piston on a fizzie). Met up with some absolutely CRACKING lads (John - Blackhat, Patrick - 2 Wheels & Paul -Airhead) along with a whole host of buddies I had known a while.............oh and of course the mad mob on the fizzies!!!!! Had a few difficulties myself with the Pan on the Fizzie run.............it really doesn't like travelling 60 miles at 35 average in 26 degree temps!!!! It even pee'd itself in the centre of Pocklington...............oh, the embarrassment!!!!!! Much ale was drunk............much nattering took place..............way too much food was eaten!!! Real shame we missed you Tommy - Can only have been by half an hour or so as I got back to Squires about 4.30pm. The rest of them rocked up about an hour later than that - I left them in Bridlington as I wanted a 'play' on the way back . Really hope to catch up with you guys again soon............and John : next time I am heading up to Bonnie Scottie, I will tip you the wink. Not been about for a while, sorry folks - work has got in the way............ Will be heading up for Squires for the Fizzie Meet - arriving on the Friday evening. Taking the Pan as the XS is currently tucked up and it would be criminal to load her up with camping gear (no rack!!!). Great to see such an active and positive involvement here from 'The Industry'. Should be applauded..... I note you offer Modern, Modern Classic and Classic Classic policies............would you consider a policy for one modern bike and two or three classic bikes as a multi-bike option? The modern bike isnt that modern though......1998 ST1100 Pan Euro........... I am currently with CN until mid August and have just had a devils own job adding the XS400 to my Pan policy - the underwriters were going to reject it!!!!!!
