  1. It's the same as mine - there is a tiny 'R' clip missing, which would hold the choke out at either full or half way. I couldn't find a replacement clip but tbh after a minute of running it doesn't need it even in winter so haven't worried about changing the whole pin.

  2. Serious withdrawal now! Gutted I can't make it, but have managed to pick up some forks/ wheel / disc etc from eBay (camping near Chester with my boys to give them something to remember this school hols for) so can swap all back to the donor bike.

    Next year!

  3. That's really shit especially  as yer mrs isn't fit to wash your underpants!  glad you're Andy but watch out they say it comes in threes [emoji185]

Well her Nan died while she was in hospital, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this was bad enough for the 3rd!

    stop moaning ya big sissy.

put a bit of heat to them and straighten them.

as for the bruises "Be a woman" and soak it up. [emoji4]

    But it hurts!

  4. While looking for replacement forks for my SR, I came across a company who straighten forks. Not sure if this would be safe? Anybody have any experience of this - on a strict budget but I don't want to take a silly risk for the sake of eating beans on toast for a month!

thank god the car was going slow, hope you are ok Andrew?

you know what they say, fall of a horse and get straight back on

I'm ok - a little achy this morning and a couple of good bruises to my inner thighs. Can't complain too much as the wife was walking round on a broken hip for a fortnight! Could have been a whole lot worse, it was a corner that I have used everyday for the last 16 yrs and even in the car I go slow because it's a road used by boy racers!

Sorry to see that mate, bugger me you were lucky there, I have a set of forks for an XJ 750 sitting in the garage, your more then welcome to them if they will fit.

Cheers mate - think I may struggle to make them fit though!

  6. Speaking with my good lady this morning and she reckons she'll do fine and I should go [emoji2]

Bent forks and a couple of minor aesthetics. Beyond straightening I think!

Slight damage to the beemer's bonnet and a couple of bruises to me - thankfully he was going slow as I was on his side of the road. I came round a blind corner and faced with a mum and dad out on push bikes with their nippers, on the road with a bike on its seat so I swung over to miss them and then saw the car.

  7. Oh man that sucks. Hope the wife is better soon as.

Cheers mate. She's almost weight bearing now with the help of a frame. Still in some pain, but considering she fractured 2 weeks ago and caused more damage, doing really well!

    you have to come,

the kids can look after the missus.

    see you there.:thumb:

If only - but I think a 6 yr old and an 11 yr old may not be the best choice lol

  9. Really not sure if I can make it this year. Had time booked off, new pop up tent, new sleeping bag (very compact) extra cog in the front sprocket hoping to beat last years mph, new camchain and minor electrics issue sorted. But the wife had a fractured hip which was operated on yesterday and with it now being school holidays I'm having to take a shed load of annual leave [emoji20] I was proper looking forward to it and now looks like I'll be spending much of the next few weeks hunting for Poke balls!

  10. the brake/clutch would be good, how strong is the magnetic one? Is it going to pop off if I hit a speed hump too hard or something like that?

    Hi martynball

Mine sticks well at 70, not tried taking speed bumps that quick though! Plenty of potholes and uneven carriageways round here though. I always use the tether 'just in case' but not actually needed it yet.
