  1. dont have a clue the piston was too badly damaged to find the cause think the crank had just had its life and gave up its got 66k on the clock i dont know how many are original miles
  2. pulled out of this carpark went down the road not even half the speed limit and it just blew half the piston and con rod in my exhaust and its ripped the inside of the barrel getting it re bored monday and a new piston kit for 60 quid and getting a new crank and bearings ill fit them tuesday
  3. the old relay just dont work and i was riding to the shop to get some elecy tape and the bottom end went bang along with the top end, indicators are at the bottom of the list now
  4. well i had to cut the clip connector off and just connect the 2 wires to it but i only did it one way should i try swapping the wires around?

  6. Ive just fitted 4 new indicators they come with there own relay they all work but they all flash at once insted of just one side any ideas?
  7. yeah thats what happens ill use the choke to get it started ill have to keep it on for a bit to warm her up then ill take it off and itll idle fine
  8. Ever since ive had it, it will never tick over cold when i take the choke off itll tick over fine
  9. Ive lifted it up a notch going to test it on the way to work ill mess about with it again tomorrow to get the best performance indont want a blown piston
  10. yesterday i was messing around and cleaning a few things and i removed the seat then i seen the air intake snorkel under the seat so i removed it to find my bike twice as fast it actually wheelies and off the line its so much faster even my mates have said its so much better the problem is when the bike is cold i got on it and tried riding it and it wont go anywhere it will just bog too much and wont rev any ideas?
  11. I havent got round to changing the oil yet and i got a airfilter and spark plug when i got it in december

First of all i think i know how to do it just need someone to confirm, my bike wont tick over cold and it runs better when its cold and wet weather and as air is thicker when its cold im putting it down to the pilot screw and maybe jet, and it will only go to 60mph then bog and wont go any faster even though theres some more revs for her to give i know the main jet mainly controls the fuel flow when the throttles at 3/4 - full so im guessing thats were it goes wrong up jetting will be needed ill do this because im waiting for the mot in july before i put a 170 kit on it just thought idd share this for anyone else and also so people can confirm im right
  13. thanks for the advice thats pretty much it i'll buy 5 of the next sized jets then and start from high to low going to buy a new crank and bearings, i know how to do the rest be stupid not to run everything in brand new think im going to get a new dep end can aswell the one that came with the bike looks years old and it bogs at 60-70 so i've ruled everything out but that, still get 30 - 40 quid on ebay for it though.
  14. ive looked for a dt 230 engine but cant find any within the uk looks like there rare so im going to have to get the 170cc kit now i know how to fit it and im going to replace the bottom end and clutch (and the oil as some idiots rounded the sump bolt) aswell just to be on the safe side i just have one question if im correct (correct me if im wrong) the standard jet is a 210 in dt stock carb's would you recommend just up jetting one size or a few?
  15. nope i haven't done it yet the snows made me put it off its been stuck on ever since i got it working lol ill take a look when the weather clears up i need to do a few jobs so ill get them all done at once are doppler break pads any good?

  19. ordered a new exhaust yesterday and i've had a text saying it will be here between 11:17 - 12:17 today hopefully my bike will get to 80, it does 75 if you rev the tits off her and have a long enough road but that's all its got to give it has the dep end can and speedo derestricted but it still don't lift at all im hoping it'll wheelie better.

  21. after looking for my oil drain bolt i have noticed were it should of been and the hole is filled up with this black compound (im guessing they threaded it) the idiots, i was wondering if there is another way to drain my oil without removing the engine and tipping it upside down any ideas?
  22. yeah going to give it a proper test tomorrow goto go into town it seems to have stopped though, i know yeah never doing that again ive just started a new job 12 hr night shifts and never have time to do anything got a week off so im going to re spray the plastics a lighter blue and order a dep exhaust.
  23. yeah its fixed it self now well i took the pump casing off cleaned a few things cleaned the carb (been to lazy to do it recently) and de carboned my exhaust it feels abit more responsive finally and temp never goes more than half way day well spent i think
  24. so if its the sender unit my bikes not going to blow up? and its alright to ride?
  25. ive taken the casing off and there's no cracking on the inside and the water pump spins when the bikes started so i have no idea what it could be
