    So dam true!

Better to be lucky than good, cos if your good then you gotta be good all the time (my old man the best god damn joiner I know)
  2. My understanding of the legality of HiD's is not the light itself that is illegal but the lens cover as they say it can not cope with the high levels of heat. I have then fitted to mine and never had a problem with them although new legislation on the MOT say they must also have a washing device so the lens is kept clean to avoid dazzling other drivers although my intepretation of this is, that its for cars only as I have never seen a headlight washer on a bike. It also goes onto say about the correct alignment but that has always been the case.
  3. Me too but mine WAS THE WIFE!
  4. Gotta disagree I have had my hand in a few smelly ones lol Bar muffs are great mate the only downside is they look shit, but if you are like me and prefer practicallity over vanity then go for it. Just make sure you get the right ones and they dont foul anyting
  5. No worries mate. for anyone else looking for decals of anysort try out his website www.chalkiesdecals.co.uk or email him [email protected] just say Jamie from the 14 website put you in touch
  6. I have a mate who can re-produce any graphics you want, If anyone is interested I will post up his contact details

    Fuel filter

replaced the fuel line and removed the filter yesterday. The buke now starts first time everytime and without the choke. happy days!
  8. Good tyres mate and they get a lot of good reviews from the guys on zzr1400. The 14 came standard with bt014 up until the new 2012 model, my rear tyre lasted 1300 miles and was worn right through but as the front was still not bad I put another rear on and managed to squeeze 1500 miles out of it. They were great for grip both in the wet and dry but the longevity was questionable on such a big bike. The bt021 and 23 however seem to be a better all round tyre. I replaced mine with roadsmarts which were fantastic and have now got PR3's on which I havent clocked up a lot of miles on yet but one thing for sure they are by far the best wet weather tyre I have ever used even at stupid speeds (on private roads). I wont change from them now especially living in Scotland as it never stops fekn raining here!

    Fuel filter

Had a wee look at exactly how the pipe sat when loweering the tank into psition and it appears that the extra length that the filter adds is causing the pipe to kink, so hopefully that is the problem and I will adjust it to suit.

    Fuel filter

Hi mate thanks for the reply. The bike does have a fuel switch on the fairing. The fuel filter is a fair size mate and wont restrict the flow as you rightly describe with the one above. I spoke to the guy again and his first thought was that maybe I am kinking the fuel line in some way so I will look at that. He is adamant that filter is designed to go horizontal so I tend to think he is correct. He is a well trusted mechanic that I have known for a lot of years. If I cant get it running properly I will drop it down to him on Monday.
  11. A Bugly? Are you serious? Its not even the current fastest production bike in the world! Now a zzr1400 thats on another planet lol Only messing mate, Im with the school of thought that anything could be considered the next classic I mean when I was a nipper I would never in a month of Sundays believed that the FS1E or laterly thr RD250 that I rag dolled about the streets would ever fetch the money that they do now or else I wouldnt have abused them like I did....................... thats a lie I still wouldnt have given a shit and just had a good time riding them after all thats what they are for. Right?

    Fuel filter

I have added an inline fuel filter to my 1993 Fzr600 foexeye. I t was running great after I serviced it and then I added the filter and I know I am probably answering my own question here but it is now hard to start and running quite rough like its being starved of fuel. When I bought the filter I asked if it mattered it it didnt sit fully vertical as I knew it would sit on a diagonal but leaning more towards the horizontal. First of all did it need one? Bearing in mind bike has lay for approx 7 years Secondly will it not being totally vertical obstruct the flow of fuel? I presume there is one in the tank just before the fuel exits into the pipe but then again you know what they say about assuming! lol
  13. It is legal to filter but then again it depends if plod are watching and if they deem your actions to be safe or not. I filter when stuck in traffic all the time as I am impatient and even with full luggage but that adds a whole new dimension to spacual awareness! I was on the Paris ring road in rush hour last year and let me tell if you dont filter and at speed you get pelters from other riders, then again the drivers seem so much aware of motorcyclists that they get out your way or make sure there is plenty of room for you to pass, not like this country where they do their best to pull out on you or even close the gap as they are pissed off that they have to sit in their tin can whilst you whizz by. My rule of thumb is if I can pass without thinking about it then I do but if I have to think about if there is enough room then there probably isnt so I would wait til the gap widens. Whatever you decide be careful cos if there is a collision then you will always be at fault.
  14. Aw wit an HIV fan lol You do know that calling someone a Hun can get you 6 months in the big hoose nowadays in Salmonds Nazi Scotland lol.The Baja post makes more sense now as I did not think there would be any outside Thailand as it seems pretty unique as well as illegal there! The 14 is amazing mate this is my 2nd one, I had an 07 before I got another new one in 2010. The difference between those two models are even night and day. Where you doing the MX? I was into it since a kid up until a couple of years ago but now I hardly get the time. I was on the big red bing at Broxburn last month for a bit of a mess about and could hardly walk for the rest of the week. lol
  15. It is a very very good alternative and I know a few people who use them, only down side is the size of the reservoir from what I can gather.
