  1. Pal of mine has a 09 TDR 125 nice bike had a few owners worked fine..till last week... Then suddenly....won't go past 40.mph? I'm wondering if that Cat ( I think it has one in the exhaust has collapsed ?) If it was an early machine i'd just say it needed a decoke? it's done 9k and not been that well looked after. he's bringing over at the weekend and I'm supposed to be an appropriate expert...hah! Any help on where first to look much appreciated Apparently, it starts easily makes no nasty noises and runs well up to 40 mph...wont rev out in any gear. Many thanks bonnietiler
  2. Oh that frowning perfidious blade..it went deep..and was twisted so.. Only a bit of banter... Not meant to be taken seriously "Although your claim to have worked with Tony Banks is admirable"...(Oh the shame..the stress on "claim") You have found my dirty Prog rock secret out...I'll never live it down.. Ignomony..ignomony they all imply ignomony.......... Yes my humour is of the Tony Hancock/Monty Python variety. Clearly the "The rest are obnoxious, braindead, fools." is ...just possibly mind ..directed at ME (another black stain on my escutcheon) and the 77,000 others that you don't know? Quite obviously though, you know me all too well...I'll just sit in the corner and play with my bricks... "Now, where ARE my wax crayons?"
  3. I'm assuming that it was running well before? Might be nothing to do with it but I had a 600 suzy Bandit and the diaphragm went on the fuel tap? The petrol seeped through the tap then into the carbs finally filled up my sump with fuel.... That made the oil smell and look like petrol.. just a thought? regards bonnietiler
  4. And the less said about: val doonican and paddy mcginty's goat the better!
  5. I agree, keep the insurers out just a phone call can count as a claim with some Companies...If it ran and got you home, I would shift it as fast as you can and put a tank full of some Super-Unleaded in as Super has little or no Ethanol in it at all, which is just another "Gummy" additive. This really ought to act as a sluicing agent and you may well get away with it nicely..It wouldn't be a bad idea to go on a decent run after switching fuels just make certain. Easily done Mate. Cheers Bonnietiler
  6. I notice that you enjoy the intellectual pursuits of Vinyl , reading and even Psychology....now don't take this the wrong way...I really am trying to help...I mean we are indeed (football aside) kindred spirits here..I run a Roksan/Nima/ Lyra dorian + I helped Tony Banks set up his Mellotron back in 1971 AND I too can read.... Aristotle, Fechner, Descartes and even Kant, but you mentioned him in relation with Ferguson didn't you? I'm just saying....that it's just possible readers here might think that your intellectual understanding of Association Football and Manchester United in particular...is a touch...only a smidgeon mind bordering on the ...not entirely unbiased?? Now I only say this ...and they really might just not have noticed... You could in fact have got away with it you know... Balanced intellectual debate is always a joy isn't it? By the way do you follow a team? PS: I wasn't aware that Immanuel Kant had a big red nose...you learn something every day don't you
  7. Or....he said with the "Tiler" part of his name to the fore...Quarry Tile it, done once never need doing again. Also makes sweeping up easier, finding things that you dropped easier and oil spills come right up.. They dont break under the force of a centre stand from a triumph Trophy1200 either.
  8. So, I take it Alex Ferguson can't count on your support for manager of the Year then?
  9. As a lifelong Manchester Utd Fan and I'm an old un...I thought that it was a very fair performance by the official..oh yes....very fair Actually...though...the Ref ruined the match...but if you're impartial, and look at his performance objectively then he ruined it all through (he is a Rabid Newcastle fan by the way) Utd went 2 up playing well, no problem...then they couldn't get a decision for 20 minutes...Quite rightly Chelsea came back into it and well deserved 2:2, if not the lead. But the Ref changed how he reffed the game throughout the match, it was almost like he was constructing the score...In fairness sending off Ivanovic wasn't a dreadful decision, it wouldn't have happened 10 years ago but he didn't complain much. I haven't got a clue what he was doing over Torres but again he could easily have Red carded him earlier in the match for the neck high tackle on Cleverley(Good yorkshire lad)? I reckon If you check the stats the big teams ALL get the benefit of dodgy decisions in most games... Again in fairness, you have to be honest here Chelsea have benefitted from some vigorous Home Town refereeing bias for 10 years or so now, I don't think that's in question, is it? If you were a cynic...and I'm not..perish the thought... you might argue that this Pro-Utd performance by the official at Stamford Bridge which resulted in them losing and subsequent Citing of the Official (sorry Rugby term...my first love) by Chelsea for Racism...could just be a smokescreen to warn other Refs from indulging in anti- Chelsea bias..."Ref agin us and and we'll drag your name through the mud". My Brother in Law is a mad City fan and he called me after all the Lucky/Bought Ref/ etc etc banter...All he said was Awesome entertainment though wasn't it?
  10. I can just about cope with fuell consumption/range etc having run a Triumph Hurricane...many many moons ago 30 mpg 2 gallon tank. I'm impressed with the brakes front and back although I reckon I might have to fiddle with the master..it has little feel..maybe it's that R1 Caliper? Unsure whether to fit an original caliper or a narrower bore master? Any ideas? I've got to be honest this is my fun bike...hopefully... I run an 07 Rocket for touring and such, the Pyrennes was an intersting experience on it last year, I dreamt of something like a TDR then! Much thanks for the help so far Cheers bonnietiler
  11. As a cret...novice when it comes to all things TDR..my last 2 stroke, a 1968 YDS5E back in 1972...yes I'm really THAT old! Could anybody guide me through the main reasons why I ought to wear stout walking boots and have a fully paid up road recovery membership in operation? Did the TDR have an achilles heel and are there any warning signs I ought to be aware of? Much thanks in anticipation of your recommendation that it'll be a fine trans continental tourer..ahem.. Cheers bonnietiler
  12. And they're as "fruity" as an Apple Pickers apron! They really do hang on excellent pipes I reckon
  13. Just over 2k...best money I've spent for a long time..Great fun
  14. Just sayin hello...I'm old enough to know better but have just bought a TDR250 ...It'll end in tears I tell you! Bonnietiler
