    Turns out the Rs100 sold here has a two position ignition switch, and the light switch interconnects the two stator wires to the battery. I am in Chile, and I asked an old mechanic who guided me a bit. I changed the light switch and it fixed the problem. What a nice bike. There use to be many of these here, and they have been slowly phased out by cheap Chinese versions that last 5 years. I constantly get comments from previous owner saying they never should have sold theirs. Thanks for your help.

    G/R is the only one I cant figure out. Mainly because my bike only has off or on, and not the other 2 positions. B/W goes to the spark, unless its off when it is grounded. Y goes to front and tail light on possition II, which is possition I with lights on on mine G to battery Sb is for the Neutral Switch Am I correct on the other 4? Thanks

    here is the diagram from the haynes manual. i cant understand the switch possitions. Is I, II, III ignition, low beams, high beams respectively? My bike has only on and off with the key. Also mine only has speedometer, no tachometer. Thanks

    the headlight only works when the engine is running, and so does the tail light. i have a black/white green yellow green/red the turn signals, break light and horn work with the battery. no regulator only a rectifier before the battery. i am trying to find out if I have the right wires going to the right places, because my baterry is not charging more than 4volts, and its a 6 volt.
  6. what are the diferent wires on the stator for. On my bike one goes to the ignition coil, and the other 3 I dont know. I know one also charges the baterry, but that leaves 2 that I can´t figure out what they do. i have an RS100 thanks RoSa
  7. Thank you. I found a wiring diagram online, and it seems the RS100 only uses a rectifier and no regulator. I don't have the bike with me to measure the output of the stator, but does anyone know why it would not need a regulator? Also, can a stator be rewound to generate a higher voltage or current?
  8. Thank you. I see that on the post the new reg/rectifier is from a Honda Cub 90 g. What can I check for, on my bike, to know that in theory this one would work? Also, How do I make sure that the headlight does not dim down at lower revolutions? Should I be asking these questions on the original post?
  9. Read the post. Very helpful, and answered most of my questions. I still am in doubt as to what to do with the Stator for my specific bike. Recoil, Rewire or Replace, to get 12 volts out of it. Thanks

  12. I am planning to convert my RS100 from 6 volts to 12 in a few months. On a vintage British bikes forum I read that stators are easily modified by rewiring and adding a zener diode with a heat sink . Another Idea I read somewhere was recoiling the stator to generate 12V, and the third idea I have contemplated is ordering a kit from dynapower in germany. http://www.powerdyna...7038/38pack.jpg which is a bit pricey, so I would prefer to know more about the first two options before making a decision. I have the bike in Chile, where there are places that recoil stators. It is currently running but weak headlight, and no turn signals, unless I charge the battery externally, so I am assuming either the regulator, and/or the stator have issues. I have a child on the way in my wife's belly, so I need to get this fixed. I would appreciate any suggestions, and answers to the following questions: What would I need to change for this modification? Battery, Regulator, Ignition Coil, Bulbs, Head Lamp. Anything else? And last question, what would need to be adjusted? Timing, carburator? Thanks in Advance, RoSa
  13. When I was a 14 I moved to South America from the US, and would see these motorcycles on the road, and dreamed about owning one every time I would see them. They usually had a push reel lawn mower standing on the back rack. 18 years later I found one in decent shape: a 1977 Torque Induction RS100. I have had it for a few years, and hope to never part with it. Thank you for having me.
