  1. This is the clutch release bearing and they do rattle! Pretty common on Fazers and nothing much to worry about.
  2. Evening All! Quick query if I may - does anyone know the torque settings for the rear brake caliper mounting bolts on the XJ600N (2000 Model)? Thanks in advance Cheers
  3. Don't be too brutal when trying to remove them as they may snap. If a bolt is just turning but you have a couple of millimetres of thread showing, put a screwdriver beneath the bolt head to act as a lever whilst gently turning the bolt with a spanner or socket. Best to give all the nuts and bolts a good soaking with WD40 or penetrating oil and leave for a few days before you attempt to undo. Noting worse than having to cut off or drill out seized nuts & bolts When replacing a thin smear of grease will help and recommend using a torque wrench on critical bolts so you don't overtighten.
  4. Just joined the Forum having bought a Yamaha XJ600N last week. Been riding for over 30 years - started with an old RS100, before having in order (sorry but going to use the name of a few other manufacturers now) Suzuki X7 & GSX400, Kawasaki Z250, Keeway 250 Cruiser (well it was my first time back on a bike after a 19 year gap!), Fazer FZS600, Suzuki GSX750ES & Kawasaki Z550 Limited. Bike history out of the way - approaching 50 and commute to the office everyday come rain or shine. Do most of my own work on my bikes but Mrs BristolWhite has banned me from touching the new one..lol Looking forward to joining in on the forums. Cheers!
