Modern fuel goes off and absorbs moisture

Not sure I subscribe to that.

My bike usually goes in the shed about the end of October, and wont resurface until April. I don't drain the tank, I just ensure the carbs are empty (non vacuum, so switch the tap off and run the engine till it dies) and the battery goes on a charger  and the bike will start again in the spring no problem.

In saying that, I use the dearer fuel in the bikes, so maybe that helps.

  2. Scott, I can't help you with your query, but as you're finding out, the site has gone quiet over the last while.

There is a fb site with the same name, and I note that questions get answered there a bit quicker.

    Good luck on your search

  3. I agree with the above.

I believe sidecars remove all the advantages of biking with none of the advantages of a car. I have never ridden a bike with a sidecar tho' so could be talking sh!t

Like Cynic and Drewpy I have had my kids on the bike since they were big enough to reach the footpegs and they loved it...Only one ot them went on to their own bike and my daughter is 'too cool' for bikes now she has her own car

The only reason I am moving away from the SR is because I keep breaking valves and they are expensive and getting hard to find so I was hoping the YBR engine would be easier...

My boy ran an SR for a couple of years. It was over 20 yrs old when he got it. Bullet proof wee engine with absolutely no mechanical issues. The ECU, now that was a different matter, he went through 3 of those (although we were replacing 20 odd year old part with other parts the same age....)

If you keep breaking valves I would suggest that is something you or a PO have done to set the timing way out

Welcome to the forum btw, and a great user name 😀😀
