    First time out!

I've been working as normal and as we have had a sustained spell of good weather, I have put 1800 miles on my bike since I got it MOT'd at the end of March. All work commutting tho so takes edge off it a bit
  3. Just flicking through fb and there was an advert from Visit Germany "Can't visit? We'll bring Germany to you" I thought, "it didn't work so well the last time you tried that "

  6. Welcome matey Spent many a happy hour trying to play the bodhran, without success as all around me will testify
  7. See, I was thinking of yours drewps and thought it was tall enough for him, but never realised you had a higher shock on it. I was thinking that the tdm, whilst fast enough, would maybe not encourage him to gun around as much as the xjr would. I totally agree with your comments ref how slow his xv is. He is reasonably sensible, so I'm probably worrying too much. When this lockdown is finished I'll take him round a few places to have a look in the flesh so to speak
  8. My boy has told me he's looking for a new bike. He has had his xv535 since passing his test about 8yrs ago, although the last two years he's done the sum total of nowt. Last year he joined my job and a few guys on his shift are riding modern bikes so that's what he's after. Seems to have his mind on an xjr1300 (coz he liked my 1200) but I'm thinking maybe a bit too fast (protective father time) I showed him a tdm900 but he thinks it a bit small in height. He is 6'1" I don't think it is. Any other recommendations or should I just stfu and get a few shots of the xjr
  9. Yea welcome back Sacha, please stay

  11. Unfortunately I don't mate, but I'm sure there will still be a few around
  12. Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum. If by barn find you mean it's been sitting a while, then the carbs may well have gummed up all the various jets and airways, so they'll most likely need stripping and ultrasonic cleaning. Best to clean out the fuel tank as well
  13. Welcome to the forum. Ref the 12.7v, what does it drop to when you press the starter. A new battery on a charger should show around 14v
  14. Welcome to the forum matey. Plenty of time to enjoy the bike once this sh!t is out the way

  17. I'm still at work, in fact nightshift now, and doing my normal four on four off. Used the bike a couple of times to commute. Frustrated during my days off tho, but hey ho, it's what we need to do. Concerned for my wife, as she is a nurse on a medicine for the elderly ward and three of her patients have died through Covid. I hope not, but feel it's only a matter of time til it gets her
  18. Cheers bud Welcome to the forum
