  1. Good news! You mention giving the tank a flush out. Did you fit an inline fuel filter
  2. I agree with the above. I believe sidecars remove all the advantages of biking with none of the advantages of a car. I have never ridden a bike with a sidecar tho' so could be talking sh!t Like Cynic and Drewpy I have had my kids on the bike since they were big enough to reach the footpegs and they loved it...Only one ot them went on to their own bike and my daughter is 'too cool' for bikes now she has her own car
  3. Nice bike...I like picture posts Welcome to the forum
  4. I'm just back from Portsoy. I arrived just as lockdown kicked in. Great weather and great company. Only downer was I wasn't on a bike. The old military Rd is open at the rest. Usual shit weather causing the hillside to collapse
  5. My boy ran an SR for a couple of years. It was over 20 yrs old when he got it. Bullet proof wee engine with absolutely no mechanical issues. The ECU, now that was a different matter, he went through 3 of those (although we were replacing 20 odd year old part with other parts the same age....) If you keep breaking valves I would suggest that is something you or a PO have done to set the timing way out Welcome to the forum btw, and a great user name
  6. Welcome to the forum matey and great intro
  7. Hi Mick, welcome to the forum Have you spoken with NABD. My mate had a serious accident about 20yrs ago, losing both a leg, and an arm. They helped him set up a sidecar with adaptations
  8. Welcome to the forum matey. Nice bikes. I was looking on eBay recently and they are few and far between. Plenty of maxims but none of your model (that I saw anyway)
  9. I can't help with mechanics down your way, but have a look on the bay or breakers yards to price a replacement engine. If you can't fit it, factor the cost to have it changed. Does that match any discount from the dealer? Sometimes it's better to walk away
  10. Welcome to the forum matey
  11. Clean the tank as well if that has been lying I assume there will be rust inside. I've used a length of light chain, but others use nuts and bolts or small stones. Fit an inline fuel filter as well
  12. Is that not a zed1..........Sorry, I'll get my coat

    Tyres...

Can't help bud. I got rid of my xjr a few yrs ago and my Triumphs don't have the torque to shred tyres.
  14. Not just ebay. I was looking for a 25ml bottle of touch up paint from a well known supplier. £7.50....Not bad thinks I, but another £7.50 pnp

    Joke

My mate drinks battery acid, I told him he'll need to watch he doesn't get charged My other mate eats black wire. I asked if he is depressed, he said no he feels really positive after eating. I asked if it is a recent habit, he said no he'd been doing it for ions
  16. Welcome to the forum arsey,
  17. Welcome to the forum matey. I used to run an xs1100, and loved it
  18. Welcome to the forum matey
  19. As above, and I would still spray carb cleaner or similar around all the hoses and connections just to positively rule out any leaks
  20. Welcome to the forum bud. Tons of advice on here. Some great some not so, but we all try
  21. Banjos will be standard and you can get braided lines made up to suit. Search Google for the various suppliers If you go on the Goodrich site you can buy kit to make your own.
