  1. Hi, I am currently building a FZR streetfighter using FZR1000 1988 frame and modded swinging arm but R1 yokes and forks which I haven`t had time to fit yet, as soon as I have time I will reply with how I`m getting on.
  2. Hey guys, I`m building a streetfighter from a fzr1000 1988 genesis frame and modified swinging arm if you have any idea if mounting points on thunderace engine is same as fzr1000 engine of 1988 please let me know because I`ve got the feeling its a later version of the same engine and if your sure the R1 enge has same mounting points even better but I doubt that one.
  3. Hi, I am 18st and 6ft 3in, used to do a bit of heavy weight boxing and alot of training which made me hover more around 16st so you can imagine I have to twist myself in some cases to get through doors but I ride one of these new model R6`s and it is ballistic I have rode heavily modded CR500`s in the past and I had a 600 because I wanted the reving good fun, you just watch that rev clock get to 8000 and hang on. If you keep it over 8-10000 nothing will pass you, according to write ups the triumph 675 will keep up but will never have the reliability a yamaha has although still a cracking bike. But the one thing myself and well experienced friends have came to the conclusion of is we can ride like nutters on the road flat out, wheelie, knee down etc but don`t believe you are ever going to see the difference between each model of the same age today it is getting so close and you need the track with no one else on it or obstacles to feel any difference. So simply go to every dealer, test ride and have what you feel you like the best is my advice.
  4. Hi, I had a 99 T ZX6R which had a aftermarket alarm on it which ate batteries for breakfast while bike stored, as for your problem the bike not starting with a good battery fitted its unlikely to be an immobiliser system causing issue if its making a relay clicking noise because immobiliseer doing job would mean everything would be dead not a sound and if you know the battery you checked bike with capable of starting bike and in good shape then fault not with battery so I would consider a seized starter motor, solenoid doing its job on starter but internals on starter seized. I have never worked on fazer before but if you can get to it try tapping starter motor on casing with light mallet or hammer while trying to start and listening to clicking. Another Q is can you bump start it if so it points finger at starter even more.
  5. Hi, I ride a new model R6 with few friends, one riding blackbird, one riding GSXR1100, 2 riding XJR`s and one riding TDM. Take a look at our crazy site one www.janglejangle.blogspot.com. We intend riding from our area Stafforshire up the west side across to Orkney islands and back down east side home in approx 10-14 days I will have to suggest it as a charity issue to my mates.
  6. Anbody know if the mounting points are in the same place on FZR1000 1988 for engine as they are for the thunderace because I`m under the impression its a newer version of the same engine in the thunderace, bearing in mind the 1988 FZR and the later FZR had slightly different frames.
  7. I`m with Steve on this one because to make R1 rear sets fit you probably require a plate made to adapt to keep things neat so you might aswell go for the aftermarket feature off ebay, ask around bike shops for the info then bid on ebay when you see what you need, something I`ve got to look into for my 88 FZR 1000 streetfighter.
  8. Hi, don`t know if you`ve already checked these but Demon tweeks sell custom kits including the yoke with bars, etc. Also another company I`ve found very good are www.intobikes.co.uk but not sure if they stock kits like so but I would expect them to due to the size of there website (similar setup to demon tweeks). As for your question on the yoke I will check in my haynes manual and get back to you later but I doubt very much, if anything I would expect that 750 yoke to be the same as the exup 1000 not the earlier bike that you have which issimilar to 1000cc early model (87 and 88) 1989 bikes changed for exups with different frames, swinging arms, shockers etc. I`m not 100% percent sure what hat what forks on though because some later exup 1000`s and 750 models had USD`s, but like I say I will check.
