  1. Yeah changing a clutch cable is a very easy job and It should only take about 15 mins maybe less. Quick tip: When taking out the old cable, out attach the new cable to the end of the old cable via rubber band or a similar sort of wizardry. Then when you proceed to removing the cable as you are pulling the old cable out the new one will be routed correctly in the same place as the old one connect the new one up the same way the old one was connected up. Also for good measure add a little light oil to the cable (WD-40) This is only a personal preference as new cables are usually pre-oiled but I like to add more to stop any possible squeaks. All is done enjoy your new clutch P.S Why didn't you just crash it through the gears to get home?
  2. I will try as both of you suggested with the steering lock, also I will open up the sprocket cover and have a look at what lurks behind there, and of course I will keep you updated with pictures. @DirtyDT The fluid seems to feel like oil between the fingers but it almost feels like its been contaminated with water.
  3. You could always put the bike on a Q plate if you are in a hurry?
  4. I love David thorne he is the most skilled troll in the world. One of my favourites is the ten formal complaints, if you get a chance read it I was laughing for hours about the wasps.
  5. Oh my that is beautiful, how long was the restoration? Bet you got some story's along the way too as with all bike builds You have done an excellent job, I heard these were a real pain in the arse to start ?
  6. Unfortunately that is what happened to me when i was 15 ish I had a gilera rc 125 top rally and a champ 125 stolen from my back garden police as usual did jack shit
  7. I recently got a shark (for Christmas) and it seems to be good quality its an s700 and has a 4/5 rating on SHARP testing LINKY and is comfy too but in reality you will go to the shop and find some brands may not fit right or be comfy and you will come away with something totally different to what you visioned. The best thing to do is go in the shop and test them out, see if stays comfortable during movement and fits nicely but make sure it has a good SHARP rating.
  8. I would have a Kawasaki 750 H2 triple 2 stroke just for the sweet sweet sound (my weekend bike) For my Insane bike I would run a Honda CR 500 AF with a supermoto conversion with the loudest pipe possible. For a daily rider I would have a YZF R1 with a full akrapovic system
  9. Hi just joined yami owners club and website looks awesome
  10. Getting a new plug is a good idea on any used bike just make sure its the right heat grade don't want a hole in your piston now I am enjoying seeing the project come along please keep us updated.
  11. Have you tried cleaning the carb? get a strand of wire wool and poke through the jets to unblock anything obstructing the flow then blow through them. this may not fix your problem but I do it every time I get a new bike do this first. Is your choke getting stuck? try opening the carb and loosing it up and lubricating it it may be stuck on. Is it running on pre mix? if so look up the recommended mixture ratio then flush the tank and refill with fresh oil and petrol ant the factory recommended ratio you may have too much oil in it. Also let the bike fully warm up and adjust the mixture screw on the carb until it will freely rev over 5k. is your exhaust new ? with 2 strokes especially ones that are older the exhaust will become coked with carbon try taking the exhaust off and leaving it upside down over night then flush it through with exhaust cleaner when you have done that get a screwdriver and LIGHTLY scrape off any stuck on carbon.
