Im with Cynic, definatly crap in the carb if not you might be getting more air in the system making her run lean after the crash. (does she sound louder at all like the exhaust are blowing?) Also don't fob folk off when giving you advice, if you are not willing to spend an hour taking off the fuel tank, (two bolts) then removing the carbs (two pipes and loosening two screws) and removing the float bowls (8 screws.....4 per bowl) and blowing out the jets with a can of air from maplins (£2.99) then refitting whilst installing the two new spark plugs (cost of say £10) grand total of £12.99 and about 2-3hrs work But i guess having a rip off grease monkey do it for £30 an hour and a slap dash workmanship is much more worth it.

O and here we go with the toaster haha. Get yourself the fuel tap repair kit which will have all the seals needed to stop the leak,

Top tip for removing the left hand grip. Tools needed: flat head screw driver and a can of GT85 with spray nozzle Use a flat head screw driver to pri up the grip enough to get the GT85 spray nozzle up between the grip and bar. And spray a good amount in. Remove nozzle and screw driver, then repeat on all 4 sides of the grip. Now squeeze and twist the grip and Hey presto the grip comes off.

Looks like a very good job well done! going to be a lot of fun off the beaten track!!

Finally got round to putting the seat foam on and the rear indicators, just waiting on the 2nd new ignition barrel to arrive to see if I can get her to start. Bandit stickers on

Thing is I'm sure I binned the old one when I fitted the new one because I'm such a twat like that haha. I've looked in the shed for it to no avail. Might have another look for it tomorrow and try it if I find it.

I bought it off ebay (came from Hong Kong) and was advertised as a 600/1200 bandit part but arrived in bubble wrap rather than suzuki boxes. Might try a NOS set if I can get the full set. (barrel and fuel filler)

Hey guys, kinda in need of some help. Bandit is pretty much ready to go now but I still have this electrical problem so here is what I've done. (stock loom) So I turn the key (brand new ignition barrel) and only the front n rear lights come on even though the light switch is in the off position. And nothing else works, no starter button, no idiot lights, no horn........Nothing. Fitted a brand new starter realy....... Nothing, no clicks....... Zilch. Checked all the earth's and they are fine and checked continuity through from switch gear to everything and all is hunky dory. Thought it needed a Clutch switch but after buying one I found out the MK1's don't have them so that was ruled out. I then heard about the resistor in the ignition barrel and that the new one I bought don't have this resistor and that I'd need to put one in on the Orange/red wire to the black/white wire on the cdi. So I popped out and bought the 100ohm resistor, temporary fitted it and still nothing. The only way that I have found I can get her to turn over on the button is to put a wire from the Yellow/white wire on the cdi onto the positive side of the starter relay (which makes it click) and then when I push the button she turns over??? Now will this point to the cdi not sending power to the rest of the bike or am missing something else?

I've had a few bars on my XVS650 and here's how i thought of them. Beach bars These were good and compfyvery easy to install as you can use the stock wireing loom and cables. The down side to them was that there was no hope in hell of filtering through a traffic jam and the cornering felt un-natural as if you was trying to leave over with your arms to the side. Drag Bars Install again was easy but you will have to change the cables for shorter ones as the throttle tended to snag and stick on (not good) riding possition was more leany over and made my wrists ache after about an hour of riding. You could filter through traffic but the bike was more twitchy in corners and at slow speeds. 12" Apes (mates speedmaster) Pain in the ass to install due to not being able to get electric cable extentions, had to order custome brake lines, throttle and clutch controls and extend all the electrics myself (took 2 weeks to install the bars this way) very compfy riding possition but high speed say above 70+mph your arms start to hurt. they also suit the bigger bikes in my opinion, but make sure the bars are no higher than your shoulders. cornering is a bit like the beach bars in the sence it fells strange Z bars These where the best ones i bought for my draggy, a mash up between mini apes and drag bars, easy to install as you can use the stock cables etc unless like me you hide all the electrics in the bars with custom hand controls, in which case they become a bitch to do. riding position can be either leant forward a bit or sat up right, filtering is piss easy but again handleing is twitchy at low speeds. Hope this helps at all?

Yer sounds like a good idea but as Drew said it can be miss treated by the car boot / Ebay scabs. I second that of what Drew said and that if it was considered a go'er then rules would have to be written and possibly put into the paying members section of the forum just for piece of mind that you not getting ripped off

Welcome to the YOC, do you live in Yeovil by any chance as there is a chap behind me with a MT125 with the same exhaust mod? This could possibly be (as malleus said) the cam chain but after only 4k i doubt it would have slackened that much in such a short time unless you have played with it. you might be burning more oil due to the new exhaust and getting "throttle happy" and possibly pushing her too much?? (i don't know how you ride so trying to whittle down the courses) tappets could need adjusting but if Yam dealer says there is nothing wrong then i guess they checked that. When did you last have her serviced? and when is the next major one? Also i wouldn't be supprised if they say the warrenty is void due to the new exhaust, i might be wrong as i have never owned a brand new bike so not too sure on the rules with them.

What a load of shit! Cops need more power these days back in the day all 15 would have been beaten the shit out of just for not pulling up their trousers, these days it seams that you can quite liturally commit a murder infront of them and get away with it. I know that back in the day some cops abused their possision and beat folk for no reason but come on.........they need to put the fear back in these low lifes eyes, so that if they do have a moment of cuntness they are going to get "corrected"

Welcome to the YOC, Blimey that was a bit of a deal then, hopefully they wont leave you out of pocket after they are built. Its quite rare over the pond in the UK to grab a deal like this now a days. Got some light at the end of the tunnel today. Took her out in the sun for a little wash as she was covered in dust. Just waiting on the seat bracket to dry then do the rear brake and the electrics and hopefully have her started next week.

Im not too sure on how the rear mudgaurd is mounted to the 1100, "i think" is a metal cage similar to the set up on the XVS125. If this is the case to do the swop as you want then this cage will need to be chopped off, a new mounting braket fabricated and welded on or as per the video just weld the mudgaurd direct to the swing arm. If you want the girlfriend to ride then you will need to create a fanny pad thats not fixed to the mudgaurd unless she has a steel spine. I had Z bars on my chop but that was the baby 650 so suited it, these 1100s either suit beach bars (old school bobber style) or the arm pit dryers You can cut costs by making stuff yourself but if this is not possible then count the pennies and keep a tight budget.
