  1. put the ecu in a friends bike, and the bike started first time and if anything went faster -.- it starts on engine start, so i think it might be the injector?
  2. hi there, so its not a yamaha, but im hoping someone on here could help me a bit? i have recently bought a gilera runner purejet 50 2004, as a project (sorta) i was told all that needs doing is a new ecu is needed, because the other one burnt out, so i got it home took the old ecu off, went on ebay and bought a 2nd hand one (description said fully working) and put it on the bike, the bike fired up first time but then, i took the battery off to charge it because it was going flat, i took it off put it on charge and left it for the night, next day came out to the bike put the battery back in, turned it over, and it wasnt sparking? i noticed that the engine management light was flashing.. ive checked the wires, there all intact, im really looking for some suggestions of what to check, is there any way to check the ecu? thanks. kyle.
  3. if you have another bike you can connect it up and see if it sparks then? thats the only way i can think of, have you checked all the wires? checked a diffrent plug? ht cap?
  4. yeah, its a minarelli engine, and any idea how to take the water pump off? it has 2 square holes in the middle of the actuall pump? many thanks.
  5. hi, i have a little problem with my dt50 supermotard, i was riding along, went round a roundabout and the back wheel slid out, i thought it was my thought xD so i carried riding i got home, and engine oil was pooring out the bike, but it was white? i thought it was a head gasket so i took the engine out, took the head off, and looked at the gaskets, none were broke, or ripped, so i made another one out of gaset paper, and put it together, any ideas what could be wrong?
  6. yeah, when i saw it said 'malaguti s.p.a' i started to get really angry because i thought someone had just sold me a malaguti claiming it was a yamaha, well atleast i know know, i had an ideea that yamaha bought the bikes off malaguti and then just re baged them
  7. i left the plug out over night, last night, and this morning we took the carb out checked all the jets and put it back together, then we took it in the garages to check if it worked, which it didnt, but after i tried this, i held the bike at about a 45degree angle, and walked around in circles, and the after about 30 seconds the bike would actually reach maximum rpm (has a gauge on the clock) and then when i tipped it upright, it drove properly untill the bottom of the garages but then went into low revs again at the bottom, im going to go down to a dealership tomorrow (if my dad finishes work early) and get a price check on new carb, new fork seals, and some plastic screws (because it needs these too) hopefully these aint too expensive but whats this about the choke? i know it has a choke on the handlebars, but its a cable.. not electronic
  8. hi every one,,, does any one have a workshop manual for my 2006 dt 50 sm ? as im haveing trouble getting or finding one,,,, and my newly aquired dt is not running quite well,, i got it cheap cos it wasnt running propperly ,,, so any help would be gratefully recieved :-)
  9. ive taken apart my dt and found out that it has a malaguti s.p.a frame, so i google'd 'malaguti s.p.a' and it came up a bike that looked alot similar to mine, could yamaha of bought a malaguti s.p.a and did somethings diffrent and then sold it as a yamaha? and if so, does anyone know a webasite that i can check my engine number on? the number is am6 147a 012006 thankss in advance, kyle.

  12. Nope, but from what I've told him he thinks that there isn't enough compression
  13. Because a friend of my dad said that he thinks there isn't enough top end compression and gave me a list of things to check
  14. Is there anything to look for when I take the head off tomorrow? I know a fair bit about bikes, but I'm not that good? Thanks

Hi there, if you read my last thread you would of heard that I'm having problems with my dt50, well today I took off the reed valve to check for any obvious breaks or tears, we'll when I got it off, (after some grief from a specialist bolt) I found that the reed valve was fine but the crankshaft was full with petrol, when I kicked the bike it was splashing out, my dad said it could be the carb is ruined, but does anyone else know of any other things to check? Next on my list is to take off the head and check the piston rings, make sure there's no cracks in the head, but other than this, does anyone know things I should check?
