  1. Hi all. I just got home most excited from the 50 mile ride back from purchasing my first bike, an '07 Yamaha YBR 125. The right mirror is fine, but when I bought the bike the guy said he had left it outside of college and when he came back to it the left mirror was limp on it's stalk. I don't think it's been dropped as there are no marks on the mirror itself, so he was either being straight with me or it's just corroded. I took the rubber sleeve off the joint and the ball part of the joint has come away from the socket part, and it's a brownish rust colour inside. Is there any way to pull it apart and replace and worn parts inside the stalk (such as some sort of spring I'm guessing) or should I just cough up for a used replacement? Any thoughts would be heartily welcome Cheers, Dom
  2. Hi there, I know this is an old topic but I was just browsing through the forums and thought I could add my two cents for any new readers. I printed of the owner's manual for the YBR this afternoon, and it states in there that the procedure for shifting to neutral should always be all the way down to first and then your small nudge back up to neutral. Cheers
  3. Awesome, thanks for the stuff so far. Looks like I'm doing well, I've got most of those criteria covered already(except maybe the horseshoe thing, I have to admit I hadn't considered that but I can imagine where that's gonna be valuable).
  4. Thanks guys, when I was researching bikes the ybr did come up time and again as tried and tested. That's probably why the test centre where I did my CBT used a fleet of them. And yes, I'm utterly chuffed although still won't quite believe it until I'm actually sat on it. Cheers, I'll take it easy, I've been grilling loads of people about biking and along with the stories of the good I've also heard a lot of the bad, and the importance of assuming that every car driver is basically asleep at the wheel!
  5. Hello all I'm a new owner of a '07 ybr 125, my first bike, and oh so excited. I'm keen to get involved and perform as much of the maintenance and servicing as possible myself. Apologies if this has come up before, but I would really appreciate it if people can give their opinions on this question. What are are the basic tools I should have to hand to make the essential ybr toolbox? What tools have you found indispensible, or are there any jobs that I'll never be able to do because the tools simply aren't available to me? I look forward to your suggestions Cheers, Dom
  6. Hello all, Just a quick intro. I just won my first motorbike on ebay this morning (Yamaha ybr 125 '07) and am really excited to get to the seller and ride her home. I've only driven a moped on loan from a college in the past, but a few years later I finally took my cbt and started the bike search a few weeks ago. Now I've got some wheels I'm keen not only to get riding, but to learn about my bike and do as much of the maintenance and servicing that I can, hopefully with the future assistance of some of your sage wisdom. That's about it for now, cheers.
