Evening all, I'm after info on third party fire and theft, this evening I came off my bike so want to know if I'm able to claim etc. Bike riding in wet conditions but not raining, 2 cars pull out of a turning not too far before I get there, a third is edging out, edged out to the point I thought they were going to pull out on me, breaks went on, rear wheel slipped out and bike skidded across the tarmac, me with it. Woman claims she saw me and wasn't pulling out but had no excuse to edging out when she shouldn't have been, turns out she was a police officer - yeh really should know better. Damage, the bar thing along the side which I guess is for slides is completely shredded and my rear bodywork has cracked substantially. Damage to me? Heavy bruising and lots of swelling just below the hip on my thigh. Been checked by A&E. Thanks folks.

    Woooooo

At the start of April my beloved FZR was stolen from off my drive-way. I was absolutely gutted and the police came back with the usual, nothing. But now I've been out and purchased a new bike, technically its used but to me its new. I am now the proud owner of an R reg Thundercat. Anyone got any tips for the bike? Also, anyone know any cheaper security items, preferably alarmed d-locks, chains etc? I know that I should put more value into the security but now I've bought the bike I'm skint and I need something now.

    Whats gone wrong

Thankfully my FIL is a die-hard biker and he suggested these other guys so I'm happy to trust his judgement. I'll read over the link you've sent and see what I can learn. I do have some biker mates at work so good suggestion, I'll ask them

Thank you. So it theory it shouldn't really be an expensive job? As much as I love my bike I'm very useless when it comes to keeping it maintained. I've never been shown etc what to look out for, how to take things off and clean. On that my FIL (father-in-law) suggested going to West Midlands Motorcycles. Taking it round tomorrow for them to have a look.

Ok got the bike back today, full verdict is that the calipers need rebuilding. The bike is probably only worth £400+ I'd say so not sure whether its worth just getting a newer one.

    Whats gone wrong

Well, got the verdict. Calipers need replacing and I have an oil leak. No idea how much that will set me back.

    Whats gone wrong

I am leaning towards the brakes option, they were changed as part of my MOT just before christmas and I've never had this problem before. It isn't a steam kind of smoke as it has a burning smell, hope its not the brakes

    Whats gone wrong

I love my bike to bits but I'll openly admit I'm useless when it comes to knowing about it. On that note I have an issue.... When I'm on the bike it feels as though there is a clicking as the wheels go round, it feels at the front but also when I pull up it seems either the radiator thing at the front or the engine is smoking. Any clues? Ta
  9. Hey all, Typically I'm not a noob on here, I was originally here as someone else a few years back but signed up from new.
