  2. Congrats on the Wedding looks like it went off easy. I was at Netley Marsh for the day and had a good mooch and got a few bargains.

  4. This is good point if using the banjo bolt nipple make sure the nipple is the highest point of the caliper when bleeding I assumed people would know that.
  5. If you don't think you can get the old nipple out, you can buy a banjo with a bleed nipple fitted in the top which would solve your problem.
  6. At lest you are OK Kev its just a learning curve. You'll be as slow as me soon wondering what around every corner. LOL.
  7. Check the stops on the centerstand they could be worn and it maybe over rotating as I dont remember having any trouble getting them off the stand!

  9. Neither of my RD's pumps are noisy, the only thing I can think of is when its on its back stroke its closing fast and making a noise but there is generally a brass shim in there which would help too keep things quiet.

Update: I've found this from Bridgestone bikes: Asymmetric tyres Only available as rear tyres, asymmetric slicks comprise a harder compound in one shoulder and a softer compound in the other. ​So the road tyre is called Dual Compound and a race tyre is called Asymmetric confusing! I've ballooned the side of a rear Avon at Donnington the odd thing was I didn't feel a thing until I slowed down.
  11. I haven't noticed any difference handling wise but they take a bit longer to warm up.
  12. If you have an electronic relay fitted you will not need an inline resistor as well. You'll only need resistors with the old bi-metal relays.
  13. Asymmetric tyres are soft on the outside & harder in the center, they have been on the road for years Avon do them as I got some on my bike.

  16. If you think your doing mainly Motorway mileage you should consider an asymmetric rear tyre as they last longer. 12k isnt to shabby though.
  17. There are a few racing TX/XS 500 on this site if I remember right, so they may know. I haven't noticed this sort of info on here have you tried Yamaha direct?

  19. Sorry to hear this Dirty it's the sort of thing that really pisses people off. All this bother because the last keeper didn't pull his finger out.

  21. What ever you buy just make sure its aircooled.
  22. +1 Springs down as they seal better when under pressure. Also if you have some small pits fill them with Araldite (original not fast).

  24. The brakes on RD A/C after the D model were rubbish, the swinging caliper design was average at best. The earlier twin piston design are far better if you can retro fit those the difference is Night & Day. The forks are poor by today's standards but the E model were fairly soft like my 400C, now the 350B are quite hard. The clutch shouldn't be to heavy, neither of mine are hard work?
