  1. Hi peeps trying to sort the Exup valve on my bike Doesn't do self test when ignition switched on, valve is free, if you pull the white and red bullet connection the servo moves and moves back when connected, all connections are clean, had it at one part when the servo was moving back and forth, but now nothing Help please
  2. As the title, would anyone know what the colour code would be for yzf750 1993, it's the blue with pink and purple graphics, cant seem to find any stickers/labels on the bike, any help is appreciated Thanks Steve
  3. Right, the exup valve doesn't move when the ignition is switched on but moves when the engine is reved, it's a 1994 bike if it makes a difference
  4. I will, but I though that it caused problems about 4000 rpm if it wasn't working ? Not high end revs
  5. Hi, can't get my yzf750 to rev over 10k even when slipping the clutch it goes upto the amount it slipped to and stops, feels like it has a flat spot about 7k in high gears, air filter is clean plugs are new, if is cold about 5c, it won't rev over 7k Any help appreciated
  6. I used the cable ties, left if for a few days clamped to some old discs so not to warp the new ones, wow, only need one finger to stop now :-) many thanks Steve
  7. Thanks for the reply, I have got to the point where the fluid is coming out but can't get a good lever, will try the syringe and see what happens, if not the cable ties, thanks
  8. Any tips on bleeding the brakes on a yzf 750. Stripped the Calipers on my yzf which was indeed of need of stripping, can only explain the stuff inside as 19 years of crap, but I have bled the brakes and the lever comes nearly back to the grips, I have bled and bled the brakes but still no good, any help ? Thanks Steve
  9. Change a few for the r6 and yes they give a lot better wind deflection

    Running cold

Thanks for the reply but half way on the gauge is about 80, the gauge starts at 60 and it runs on/just off the bottom of the gauge when moving, still seems to be running cold to me, all the bikes I have had run like you say in the middle

    Running cold

Still can't work it out, brand new thermostat (genuine) and still running cold, just over 60c on long straights goes up to 80c when stood/moving slow then cools down when moving again, fans come in at correct temp when stood ticking over Any help welcome Thanks Steve

    what r6 200-2003

Hi, I have had both injection and carb versions of the r6, people say that the early ones handle better, Never went on the track and don't ride too hard on the road (;-) later one was as good, had no probs taking the chicken strips off either one, the plus side to the injection is start it and don't have to mess with the choke, look better in my opinion, either way there are both good machines, would recommend steering damper, and be careful, you won't believe the power a r6 has, best to take it steady at first very steady
  14. Strange but my dad used to ride with someone who ended up dead in a field, again no skid marks, no fault with the bike no one else involved, the only thing my dad said that it was near Dunham bridge which has a toll charge and wondered if he was trying to get his change out ? Other than people guessing what happened no one found out why

    Running cold

Hi, tested with the thermostat in the water all the time, the stat closes after 7mins if left,, if I add cold water it closes straight away, the temp stamped on the stat is 71c which it seem to be working ok ? Cheers Steve
  16. This probably won't help but, I had a dt50 from new in 1990 it would only do 60kpm flat out lying on the tank ;-) From memory (if its the original yam exhaust) removing the front pipe and extracting the tube that inside, new reeds, rejet ? I don't think you will get much more out of it as Yamaha built them to go 60kmp for the moped laws Cheers Steve
  17. Hi, my yzf750r is running cold, just over 60 Celsius (at the bottom of the gauge) when moving, goes up when stood/slow moving, I have changed the thermostat (second hand) still running at about 60c, I have tested the original stat and it opens up with boiling water and starts to close after 2mins, fully closed within 7mins, would anything else cause it to run cold ? Any help welcome Thanks Steve
  18. Hi, can anyone recommend what engine oil (grade/make) goes in a yzf750r 1993 Thanks
  19. Sounds like the thermostat is the problem for the not getting hot, it's fitted under the tank under the carbs, two bolts to undo the housing and it pulls apart,(the thermostat can be tested by putting in boiling water to see if it opens up) starting could be flooded ? Was it stood before you got it ? Could be crap fuel if it's been stood, not sure if the gauge would cause any probs starting, maybe try a good battery/jump from a good battery and with choke on from cold Hope this helps
  20. Got the only one off eBay Thanks
  21. First of all hello, would anyone have a thermostat for a 1993 yzf 750 (cheap) :-) Steve
