  1. Sad to here that bud! I got taken out by some foreign tit who pulled out of a left hander around mid day on a sat............same situation, silly wanker was on the phone, albeit a hands free device, but still not concentrating! i saw him out the corner of my eye swerved on to the other side of the road but his os bumper clipped my ankle and shot me on to the pavement! lucky i didn't come off, carried on with my day as normal then found out on the monday that my ankle was broken in two places! Rubbish! got a pay out though!!
  2. haha! all good! dont know i missed it but found a tiny stone in needle jet! and how it got there is even more worrying! ph well, every cloud etc is that its running sweet as a nut after fresh oil and a clean up!! thanks guys
  3. Had the float out and it was correct and intact (18.9mm fyi). Double checked all the jets and needle for wear, had the sleeves out, all washed in fresh petrol, and tighten up correctly, re-fitted, started after 2nd turn over, ran fine whilst warming up, then it started spitting petrol out of the carb again, promptly cutting out! every single part of the fuel system has been cleaned and double checked from the tank to the carb/inlet manifold.......floats not upside down! didn't touch the idle screw as was working perfectly before, (But are you ment to re-calibrate it every time you take the carb apart????) hmmm....i'm led to believe that it HAS to be something to do with the float and too much fuel getting in, but cant visible see anything wrong with it........what other problems could cause this? Ollie
  4. no. its gravity fed straight into the carb. ive got it running but when it tries to idle/ gets to low revs fuel comes out the overflow pipe off the carb. i'm thinking the float in the carb may not be returning propperly to shut the fuel off.......but when taken apart it seems to spring down freely......any ideas?
  5. Did it work? Problem with these xt125 is build quality! its awful! reliable engine though! my speedo has been on the blink for ages. took it apart and it was slightly damp.... dryed it in the airing cuboard in pieces re fitted it with black sealent to prevent it happening again! worked fine for a while now speedo showing 0mph all the time. may be damp fuse's........or a new cable. just wondered if it worked for yours?
  6. I run my bike out of fuel and can't get it running again. I've cleaned out the air filter and what I presume is the fuel filter, checked the needles in the carb and flushed it through with fresh fuel and cleaned out the fuel tank. Had it running a few times but had to keep the revs up for it to stay running and it won't start at all now. I'm all out of ideas now and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what it could be? Thanks in advance Oliver
  7. Hi guys, so got my first bike on the road and after some subtle mods and some new parts, shes looking mint, i've decided after 2000miles and not knowing its past that its time to change the chain and sprocket set i was wondered if changing the front sprocket from a 14 tooth to a 17 tooth would make any difference at all? Thanks for your help! Ollie................ DO not worry! just read an interesting post about 125 sprocket changing, which has lead me to think, get it, its only a 5er but keep the old one in case this ruins my gearing and possibly top gear pulling power..... Thanks.
  8. Hi everyone im new here and have a few questions you may be able to help me with..... Very pleased with my first bike, an xt125x (until i get my full ticket) but have a few issues with it....... firstly the headlight seems to be awful.......and was wondering if there is a aftermarket unit or halogen bulbs i could buy? (maybe the unit from an xt660 is better and could be fitted? and second, where do i get a performance air filter from? i've already fitted a full arrow race exhaust, made the acceleration better but not much top end........i have had a look around the forum and yes, i know they are very slow and not much can be done to make them faster..........but hey, every little helps! Thanks
  9. Mine has a full arrow race exhaust, but was on there when i brought it so i don't personally know if it made a difference........the guy who sold it to me (a friend of a friend, so i can trust his opinion!) said that it made the acceleration in 2nd and 3rd significantly better but not much on the top end.... mine does 75 on a flat.........but i weight just less than ten stone.........advice? arrow system is expensive at around £300 but apparently worth it!!
