  1. ive found the fault, my mate luckily has a dt125 so after borrowing parts ive found out its the stator, now need a place to get one, anyone know of anywhere i can get one
  2. yeah at the connectors, i made sure it was the loom side too ive just had nearly another hour on it cant find a thing with it
  3. i just disconectted the connecter further up the loom then bridged the two wires across. is there any other tests i can do to it ?
  4. would that stop the bike sparking ? although i do have it wired in
  5. Hi there all, ive spent this week stripping down my engine on my 2002 dt125 to make a gasket to stop it leaking oil, ive just finished putting the engine back in the bike today got it all wired up and a few kicks later it wouldnt start, i decided to bump it off.. still not going so i took the plug out and it had no spark, firstly i changed the plug, still nothing. i checked the ht lead and its fine, checked all the wires to the stator and they all seem to be fine and have continuity, im just stuck with it now been trying to trace some wires and check them. i have checked the kill switch, the side stand switch. can anyone suggest some other ideas to fix it, urging to be back on the bike now as the sun has started to do its thing any help would be great, many thanks Tom
  6. Theory passed :D

  7. To answer your first question probably not as the engine was held in by the swinging arm engine mount and the top bracket that connects the frame to the cylinder head. the front engine mount bolt wasnt even there. ive had the head and the barrel off the bore seems okay with no major scoring, the powervalve is all working correctly too, there doesnt seem to be much carbon deposit in the engine all looks pretty clean, ill take it out for another ride tomorrow and try see what is going on with it. thanks for the help
  8. Thanks everyone for the birthday messages legally able to ride a 125 now oh two now is it i best start saving up then, happy birthday for yesterday and CBD we will be out again soon on the 125's able too keep up then
  9. Thanks CBD i was thinking that too but when i bought the previous owner gave me a reciept for piston and rings and said he fitted them a few days ago, the reciept it dated the 18th of feb so it must have a new one in but never the less may be worth a look inside hoping to get it running right for the end of the week
  10. Thanks haha sounds like a plan im 17 in 55 mins
  11. yeah i know it will void it. but it struggles to do 40 it really doesnt rev right at all. i am going for my theory soon and hopefully taking the test too soon
  12. i know it would slighty void my insurance, but it seriously struggles to go really and its not much fun in the sun in the middle of summer having every man and his dog overtake you on a ride out
  13. Hi there all, i picked up my dt125 yesterday its a 2002 dt125r, it revs cleanley up to 10, 11 thousand revs when its stationary, as soon as you set off in first it wont go past 7000 revs in all gears and almost gives up in 5th and 6th, it feels like its electronically restricted, i just wondered if anyone has experienced this before and if so what the hell is wrong with it, my mate has just bought the exact same bike but a 2003 model and it has the same problem, any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks Tom
  14. yeah thats right he is yeah hopefully should be there,
