  1. I hope for a speedy recovery mate, it hurts the pride and knocks your confidence. I had a slide before christmas, trust me, you'll get there.
  2. i think thats the one he uses for show
  3. thinking about that, My link I found this, it goes down very low which could be good.
  4. ride magazine did a fab write up on chain oilers a while back My link I went with the scottoiler because its what most people put on their bike and its quite an easy install for non mechanical minds. I have the double injector and plan to put it on, but i just cant get a nice day to put mine on. Oh and its under the seat, if u want the extra reservoir you'll need to put it behind your licence plate no doubt
  5. looks a bit dodgy with all those stars in there... but seriously, that does look a bit iffy to me.
  6. 23. "My fiancé and I booked a twin-bedded room but we were placed in a double-bedded room. We now hold you responsible for the fact that I find myself pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked." 10. "Topless sunbathing on the beach should be banned. The holiday was ruined as my husband spent all day looking at other women." 5. A tourist at a top African game lodge over looking a water hole, who spotted a visibly aroused elephant, complained that the sight of this rampant beast ruined his honeymoon by making him feel "inadequate". Really? Is that all people can complain about nowadays? But still, when you were taking the call for them, i think you'd be howling with laughter!
  7. I have the V-System on mine, fitting it myself, was a p***-take really when you research it enough. It may not be a lot of panels so'll take you less time. Make sure you get some oil in the seat lock as your not using it all the time. Mine seized and was a pains to get off. Remember it doesn't have to be perfect, your not making love to it
  8. First things first, get yourself a scottoiler. Saves a lot of the problems with oiling your chain, dont get me wrong, you still need to clean it down every wee while but it'll keep your chain for longer. I commute to Edinburgh for Uni from Glasgow and my chain would be killed by now with this weather. I know the cold weather is killing to do any work in but you gotta be religious with it. If your hosing the bike down every time your getting home late then putting a cover over it, wheres all that water going to sit? Its gonna drip through and freeze on all the parts you dont want it to. It takes a couple more minutes but just take a quick shammy round it, doesn't have to be perfect or bone dry but it saves you walking out to a frozen set of brakes or worse. I know the covers are good at keeping the frost out but i always say its better safe than sorry, especially if water freezes in your lock set. Now if your hosing the bike down, either avoid the chain or hose the chain down but you gotta dry that chain before you re-lube it or its just gonna drip off. Thats my thought behind it anyway, other people might think different.
  9. Thats quite a list of tools, i think i'd need to invest in a big garage first. With a wall to store or my tools or lots of draws to store them in. I've got most of the basics : Screw Drivers, Allen Keys, Pliers/wire cutters, stanleys, the basic spanners from the yamaha tool kit, I have the crappy set of sockets like 5mm, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13. So just the torque wrenches and a soft faced mallet but i can nick my dads one. I'm sorted the now with like all the more useful things like bench vice, soldering irons hacksaws, we eat enough takeaways so i could start saving them up haha or just get cheep tubs and with power tools, he has a lot of them too but i really wanna start myself but i better wait till i have my own place haha. Thanks though, its the help i need that i know experienced bikers on here know,
  10. haha she already did that today but that was on the bike. She wriggled while going round a corner, she got told of haha. But she doesn't even look at bikes, bike magazines, bike anything hehehehe
  11. we had that unusual screeching sounds, i know my brakes dont squeak She doesn't want her own yet... i've even offered to get her one but she says she doesn't want a bike licence or a bike. Intercom... all i would get is "Slow down your speeding, still going too fast, too fast, are you listening to me? *thump* Listen to me!" haha And lucky shes not a girly girl, she got a black helmet, i threatened her with an yellow one... luminous hehe
  12. I'd just like to say finally its took since July to get my misses on the back of my bike. Went for a spin around Edinburgh City centre for a while with her, she wasn't too freaked. Now i wont be getting communication devices or she'll complain about any mistakes i make
  13. I Agree with the paraffin for cleaning the chain. Its cheep and works wonders, found it actually worked a lot better than the spray stuff!
  14. Thats why i was looking to expand
  15. This is what i have atm: My link I'm thinking i'll need something more robust. Am really wanting to get into stripping down the bike because i dont want to keep giving my money away to the garage for simple stuff.
  16. hi guys, thanks for the input, i've been looking at two wrenches, My link My link One goes low down and one goes a lot higher. Am just being plain dumb in this field, will i need one of these sets too? My link My link thanks again
  17. Hi all, just wanted to pick your brains on tool arsenal. All i read in the manuals is things need to be screwed to certain pressure settings. Well am looking to invest in a torque wrench really but am lost I was wondering what i should get? 3/8 or a 1/2 or should i get both in the long run? What am i gonna need most? Its just i dont want to over tighten things and then have trouble later on. And any recommendations on what wrench to buy would be nice too Thanks!
  18. Just a little update, got the tail light to work properly finally! Down to human error really, it was wired up wrong. They work a treat now.
