  1. Hi all, I'm just getting ready to rebuild my LC3, and I'm not sure what bearings/bushed I need for the swing arm? I compared it the DTR roller bearings and bushes, but they're too big. Should I be getting the top hat style plastic bushes that are all over eBay, or do I need the DTR style roller bearings?? Can anyone help? Ta, Lewis
  2. Sorry OGOAB the bike pic was for the other question, what is it, I'm guessing the engine thats stuck in my '91 DTR frame ain't gonna fit in that one. Will try and get a photo of the bolt tomorrow, looks like the same bolt in my new bike is the same, used a scaffolding pole on my breaker bar, that sucker ain't turning either! Will have to try some of the stuff up there ^^ L
  3. I tried lubing the sucker, didn't get as far as exotic solutions reccomended above, but I'll definately give them all a go. As for the bike, here's a (dark) photo...
  4. As for the bolt I hit it very very hard with a hammer. A lot. Still wont budge. Will have to take it to a garage I think... As for the new bike, I'm certain the frame is very different, the shock seems to mount "inside" the frame a lot more, and oil and water tanks are under the seat? Any ideas?! I'll get a photo on as soon as I'm at home in daylight! Lewis
  5. Howdy again! During the summer I picked up a dirt cheap DTR that turned out to be a bit ropey, I had plans to tart it up a bit, maybe get it on the road etc etc...anyhow the frame is still sitting in my garden with the engine locked in by a bastard of a pivot bolt that I just can't shift. Here's the DTR... Then this week a mate offered me an F reg '89 DT for a £100 with a seized engine. So I went and got it. Now the questions. Will the engine fit? Are there any other bits I can use from my DTR on the DT? Ta! Lewis
  6. Yeah it was mushroomed loads, but I ground it all off, still not moving. I'll try the tube method. Just need to find a suitable tube... So frustrating! Just want to get the engine out!
  7. Morning all, I've been trying to remove the engine from my DT for about two weeks now. All that's holding the sucker together is the bolt that goes between the frame, engine and swing arm. I've literally smacked the shit out of with a 4lb lump hammer and it just aint moving. At all. Is it worth taking it to an engineers or a garage to get it out on a hydraulic press or similar?? Lewis
  8. Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. I've seen a few frames pop up on eBay, the last one was £120, I would have grabbed if I have the cash! Just started to have a poke around the bike, there's a massive oil leak from the clutch/oil pump side of the engine so I've got some new gaskets to try and cure that. Now I'm on holiday for three weeks so not really going to have a chance to get much more done! Pity, looking forward to thrashing it about at some point!! Lewis
  9. Cool thanks for the speedy reply!! I'm planning on cleaning it up and then over the winter a rebuild, I've been offered a replacement frame from another DTR, but it's from a 2002 bike, it would be good to get this and have it powder coated, any ideas if it's the same frame as my early 90's bike? Ta again! Lewis
  10. Afternoon all, just picked up a cheap DT, but I'm not too well informed of the different models, and I'm not sure what to look for in terms of parts etc? Here's the bike, can anyone help me out? the guy said is was a 1992 ish but that could potentially be way out? Ta! Lewis
