  1. so at night riding my bike is kinda scary bc the light is not too bright... is there any way i can switch to an LED or a higher wattage build or something
  2. Thanks, and love the sig! ha and im sure what to call it, but its the piece that connetcs the carbs to the heads...when i look up "xs360 carburetor intake boots" what comes up is the splitter from the air filters to the carbs, thats not what i need... Bike bandit lists it as " JOINT,CARBURETOR" (they r 40 a piece there... hell no) would these fit on my 1976 xs360? (even tho it says for 77 xs400) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390235575429&_trksid=p2759.l1259#ht_1420wt_883
  3. so i finally figured out what my major problem is... my carburetor intake boots were cracking and they were leaking too much air after the card... sooo now i have covered them with electrical tape for the short time... but i need a place to get reasonably priced new ones... its a 1976 xs360
  4. So i recently had to get a new key since i only have one... and the only keychain like thing i had in my house was this lame nautica float thing that came on a pair of shorts i bought i was thinking of how to go about converting my little yamaha key to a switchblade style key... any one have any ideas?
  5. i went up a bit more than one size but i hope it will end up working out..
  6. temp solution was the 3.5 turn on the low speed mixture screw. But after riding 30 min riding, idle started to be too low.. so when i raised(idle) it the problem came back. guessing i need bigger low speed jets? because 3.5 turns helped a bit but not enough (the rpm would stay high but drop slowly down) Background info- i just changed the stock air box's to pod filters. Current jets: Low- 15 high- 135 Opinion jets needed:?? Low- 20 high-140
  7. okay thanks guys, i will test it out tonight.. keepin my fingers crosses... a friend thought it was the timing advance...
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISzwJeLWlME 1976 Yamaha xs360... if you listen, you will hear the bike idle fine, but once you rev it a little bit, it will keep going and just sit at about 3-4 rpm. You have to use the kill switch to slow it down to a normal idle. Just so you know, its not the throttle cable (checked). thanks for any help!!
  9. So i recent switched to pod filters. I kept the stock splitter thing and attached the pods to that little extension that is connected to the carb. I used the metal neck on the stock air filters to be able to connect the pods to the splitter thing..
  10. For any one looking for blank keys... i found this site and emailed the guy the 4 digits on my ignition, and he is mailing me a blank key... $9 total with shipping. He said for an extra 10 it will be cut and ready to go when it gets here.. but i can get it cut locally by a friend for free... But he has a HUGE selection of keys.. And he responds VERY quickly to emails and is very helpful.
  11. I decided to just order a set of pod filters (45mm) from ebay someone was selling... 20 bucks.. worked out good. Im going to change my exhaust and do the pods, then see how lean it runs, and depending on that, depends on what jets and to what extent i change it to. (im running rich right now any way... soooo we will see how it ends up..) But thank god i decided to replace a few things on this bike, esp handlebars... the throttle cable was fraying and was holding on by the last 3-4 strands and finally snapped when we were timing the new points... would have been SOL on random day.
  12. There was no page linked... ??? I am planning on connecting the pods to the spliter thing that connects to the carbs.. and a 45mm filter will connect to that (i measured) im thinking i will have to take the carb apart to see what jets i need... well that is after i put the pods on and run into any leaning issues.. im pretty much all stock as well http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/2/9/427/7841/ITEM/Uni-Air-Filter-Clamp-On-Pod-Filter.aspx?sst=RR|7841 those any good?
  13. he writes that the pod ripped.. im not sure if getting a over sized one would be the best move, but i think i have found some where to get 45mm pod filters... but any one know what size jets are on a stock xs360 carb??
