  1. Cheers blackhat, I'll give it a look-over tomorrow in the daylight to see if I can locate it at all.
  2. It does yes, its the old Carb model but no idea where the screw is to try draining out anything, looking for pics and examples to try what you say but no such luck yet.
  3. Not sure what the problem is, it starts up fine, warms up from ticking over for a bit but the minute I try to drive it off in 1st gear it gets up to about 3k-4k revs then just slowly dies out on me - revs jump up and down a bit before dying out? there has been terribly heavy rain but I dried every cable/battery area etc etc It usually drives off perfectly fine at 3/4k revs - cold weather/warm weather. It's been sitting for about 6 days unstarted our untouched but I've left it far longer than this before and it's been fine, it has plenty oil, plenty petrol and seems to be getting enough airflow but it just doesn't want to budge. I've checked the spark plug and it seems ok too, any ideas what the problem could be? only thing I changed was the bulb to a halogen one but it's still 35/35W so fail to see how that could affect it.
  4. Yep, standard for all YBR's - mine does, 06 plate.
  5. Think I managed to fix it, trekked and got some silver duck-tape and the light now shines straight ahead and to the left when pointed at a wall, none seems to be deflecting to the right. Still to test it out on the road but so far so good!
  6. Aye I gave that a try but cause of how the bugger is fitted it doesn't move around much, that and even if it's moved it won't change the direction of the beam much if at all. I've tried to find a UK headlamp but they haven't fitted as the back of my headlamp is rounded, the UK ones have square/flat back ends and refuse to fit into the gap or line up properly. I'll test out my makeshift job when it's pitch black against a wall and see if it actually works, have just fitted a halogen bulb over the standard old fashioned round bulb too and have heard that this can cause problems with it dazzling drivers... Don't fancy being pulled over anytime soon either.
  7. This will probably come across as a daft question however with my YBR being a french import the front headlamp is of course french and set to their standard. I was looking into ways of deflecting the beam and was just wondering if any kind of tape would do the job for now? such as brown/black/silver tape or if there is any of those deflector strips designed for motorbike headlamps as I know there is for cars. I've had to go ahead and do a makeshift job just now with solid waterproof scotch tape topped with some solid brown tape and just wanted to be sure it'd do the job hence the question here.
  8. Cheers for the warm welcome! working away on the wee bike at the moment, might post pics. We'll see!
  9. Hi Nuggy, if you haven't found one yet you could have a look into the GPR exhaust system - easy to install, stainless steel however not cheap! theres a wide range of aftermarket ones but the GPR one seems to be the most talked about one out there.
  10. Hi Folks, Thought it's about time I'd introduce myself here. I'm Harry, up in Fife, Scotland, still quite new to biking - been riding for around 3-4 years now currently on a little silver 06' plate YBR 125 Carb Model quite a cracking little bike, before that I started out on a simple SR125. Still on the L plates till I can afford to sit the full test and the hefty insurance prices if I upgrade to a bigger bike. Just figured I'd join the forum and make an appearance for a change. Looking to give my current bike a fair bit of TLC and a wee tidy up so will be scouring the forums for similar topics.
