  1. New pads 1st....then maybe a set of braided lines.....& make sure those rotors are clean!
  2. Take it for a quick spin after you've removed the speedo cable (temporarily)....just to see if that noise persists Lube the hell out of that cable before re-installing too.

  5. Difficult to say on that one Badger If it was mine, I'd do a full oil/filter change & keep a close eye on it.
  6. 1st of all.... to the forum Markt .... & Congrats on your purchase. Myself, I'm NO stranger to XJ's.....owned (3) 550's & a 750 in the past..... Rode this one for over 13years......daily, year-round.....& it had 130k on the clock & ran like a champ when I sold it. ALOT of great memories on this Beast..... Best of Luck with yours

  18. OK...here's mine.... Just got it back together after a top-end rebuild & some powder-coating done to the frame & skidplate... Had it back together last weekend, but after a quick test ride I discovered an oil leak & the base of the barrel! Tore it down & sorted the issue with a proper ReTorque of everything.....Works Great now!

    Wotcha!

to the forum Kevin & For the record......the only dumb question is the one that DIDN'T get asked.
  21. Finally got serious about tearing down my XT6 tonight...... I'm soooo glad I'm doing a frame-up resto.....'cause I knew I'd find other issues that'll need addressing ...... Looks to be a crappy weld from the factory that finally gave way to the notorious vibes of a Big Thump.... I was pumped to find a K&N already in the airbox.....that appears to only be in need of a good cleaning.... Decided to call it a day.....but not before ringing up my MetalFab buddy to inquire of his services for prepping the frame.... He told me his Mom is ready to go over the Floor Plan I drew up for her new house.....tomorrow.......which means I'll finally have some coin to order those motor parts! Also re-confirmed with a workmate about powder-coating the frame, skidplate, & footpeg brackets..... He's already got the colors I'm looking for....Fire Engine Red for the frame.....& Satin black for the rest......only gonna cost me $100! ......
  22. Did someone say XT6 SupaMoto? ..... Fortunately for me.....the 17" Excels laced to stock hubs, were already on it when I bought it. Currently in the process of a frame-up rebuild....can't wait till it's done! BTW..... to the forum

  24. Cheers mates! 1 of these years, I just might get lucky enough to NOT have to work on my birthday ..... I am going camping with my lad this weekend tho.... See what we can catch here...... ....which is the next best thing If I can't go RIDING Another good note.... Finished another CAD side job last night......& my MetalFab mate told me he's ready to pull the trigger on building a house on his property for his Mom......which means another BIG job.....& enough $$ to finally work over the SuMo I feel a good Spanner-Twirlin' session coming on!
