I was able to start my 75' xs500b off for a few seconds for the first time with the new Mikuni vm34 carbs I installed. I just need to wait on my custom throttle cable now. Does anyone know what to do with the jetting for these carbs? I plan on running with pod filters. Thanks, Jason

That's what I was thinking. Thanks!

I purchased a pair of Mikuni VM34 carbs for my 1975 XS500B. The new carbs do not fit into the stock intake gaskets. Would something like this work My link or do I need to do something custom? Thanks, Jason

I have the exact same bike and I need to install new carbs. Let me know what works out.

Okay, I am a few steps ahead now. I finally have it to turn over with the key. My main problem right now are the carburetors. We took them apart and everything is corroded, stuck, and rusted. I want to find a replacement set of carbs for a price that won't break the bank. I have been looking on ebay, but nothing that catches my eye. Any help or suggestions?

Yea the mounting spots on the caliper were too far apart, it looked like it would fit around the disc though. The overall caliper is too big to fit anyways. I would post pictures but I am in college right now which is 2 hours away from my bike

Another question I have. This bike did not come with the front caliper. I bought a '76 xs500 caliper on ebay. I assumed that it would of fit, but it is too big. Are there any other model calipers that fit on a 75 xs500b?

I have another question. This bike did not come with the key. The guy that I bought it from said I can take it a locksmith or Yamaha dealer and they can make a key for it. Is this true or do I have to come up with a new ignition?

awesome, thank you very much!

I did some further research and it looks like it is a XS500B. I can't wait to get this thing running. Best investment I made (maybe).

I bought this bike for $125. I only know that it is a 1975 500cc. Does anyone know more information about this bike (exact model name)? Where can I find parts? Thanks, Jason
