  7. I been usin a Scotoiler on my GSXR11 for 18yrs now,i fitted mine to the front sprocket too,but not on top of the chain, fitted it to the top quarter of the front sprocket and it works a dream, just fit it so it rubs on the side of the front sprocket and gravity will do the rest!,no ugly bits on swing arm nice an discreet, bottle is mounted to the top fairing just by the screeen so it easy to fill and adjust.you be fine to use your bike without one but i can`t recomend them highly enough, sure they pricey, but long term they wort it,and you can keep it if you buy another bike!
  8. Ah well they say yer no a real biker till you felt the pain!,SO HAVE FUN,ENJOY,and WELCOME!,you bound to find some laughs around here!
  9. Unfortunately ryan, the only way to adjust handling is to ride it,setting up a static bike and expecting it to perform is a tough one!,don`t get carried away by thinking bigger is better on a small bike or any bike!(TZR i`m guessing?)bigger forks(more weight)wider wheels can be harder to turn,it is a mine field of head scratching to get right.if you have the patience to read,i would recomend you go buy a chassis set up manual.THE RACING MOTOR CYCLE,a technical guide for constructors.by john bradley.superb info, and a chassis guide for life!.it is expensive but well printed and robust,i would recomend it to anyone who is half serrious about learning why bike`s work the way they do,and how to make them work with you!.

  16. Thank`s to ypvs tone for the link, look`s like it a mix between an F and an lc2,the barrels pistons head and carb`s are 31K,cdi is from a japan 52Y model, think yamaha-motor loon`s must o been on the whisky when they put this one together!
  17. Thank`s for all your help so far folk`s,was just wondering why the chassis plate says model type 31k and not 57V,i am aware that the frame numbers start with 31K tho,and it has the full fairing,so i`m thinkin it must be an F model, just not sure what the crack is wi the chassis plate sayin model type 31K?,time will tell i guess!
  18. to be honest with you(this is only my own personal view) modern super bikes don`t need to be fiddled with if they runnin an pullin clean, never fiddle for fiddles sake it only make them worse!,you can loose a lot of good handy low -midrange power by gettin sucked into top end power trip`s,tune it for how you need it!
  19. Ha-ha,aye up the northern end dan ye know yer sel!,but any good Info appreciated!
  20. Choose tyre`s with care as not all different tyre brand`s are well suited together!,go to a shop and have a look at how different tyre brands profiles can vary quite a bit but yet still be callled the same size`s,it can make all the difference when you do find a good match tho,i don`t tend to mix brands tho just profiles, but i`m sure it can work.i tend to think of it this way,the rear can be steered around the front, but if the front start`s to go west then that`s when the serrious problems start !
  21. Hello folk`s i`m new here. recently bought an old YPVS in a very bad state for a project bike,i hope this will be a good place to find out just what model bike it is?,frame plate has model type 31K,engine and frame numbers start with 54,body work looks like it`s an F model,it does not have the mechanical tacho drive like the lc2,so i`m wondering why the chassis plate says model type 31K,and not 57V?,any info would be just dandy!,will also have a few part`s for sale at some point if any one need`s or know`s somebody lookin for some bit`s.
