    My '91 Exup Ru

Finally sold my '88 ZX10. Now got myself a '91 Exup !!! Needs a bit of work just to get it roadworthy. Bad bits. Forks pitted and seals gone. Calipers front and back seized. Front and back discs worn out BIG TIME !!! Pads worn down to the metal. No tax or MOT Good bits. Full titanium Akrapovic exhaust (too quiet tho') Only £500 !!!!! Junked the top and clip-ons immediatly !! MFW top yoke with risers fitted.........with black Renthal bars. Fairing brace removed and then top fairing modified to allow for the bars to be turned !! It was fine in a straight line though !!!! Brace has beed cut right down as the tank and airbox are bolted to the frame via this bit. Filled with chemical metal.........wet n dried and sprayed black. Can now bolt frame and airbox down tight. Ugly mirrors binned. New(ish) USD forks fitted with R1/R6 blue spot calipers + R1 master cylinder with R1 lever. Brembo front discs. New standard rear disc + overhaul of original rear caliper. Micron carbon can from Fleabay fitted (£80) so the Akro' is now for sale. Sounds MUCH better !! Front wheel bearings replaced. New front mudguard on order and the original one fell off when i tried to undo it !! Pumped up the tyres..................ooooohhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!! Need to get it on the road for the summer. Got a few camping trips lined up. Then gonna tear off the plastic.
  2. Can anyone tell me if a rear disc for an '89 1000 Exup will fit a '91RU 1000 Exup? Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
  4. Think i'm gonna like it in here !!
  5. Just joined so thought i'd say hello to everyone. Just bought a FZR1000RU EXUP. Never had one before so will probably need loads of advise about her. Safe riding everyone.
  6. Hi all............noob member here !! Just bought the above on a '91 reg. It's got seized front calipers. Now i've been told that the original calipers left a lot to be desired. SO: 1. Is this a rubbish statement? 2. If it's fairly accurate............can i swap them for a 6 pot pair from another bike? Don't want any soddin' about with spacers or adaptors etc. Just a 'unbolt the old.........bolt on the new' fix is what i'm after. Thanks guys !!
