  1. Hello all. I've got a bit of bother at the moment with the gear shift on my 2001 R6 at the moment. The gears change OK when the bike is cool but if the bike gets really warm the it becomes really awful to shift gears. It's clunky as hell and requires quite of decent pull / push on the gear selector to get it to shift. Trying to get the flippin thing into neutral is almost impossible. It'll go from second and clunk heavily straight down into first. Try going the other way and it's the same story going straight through neutral and into second Any ideas what might be causing this??
  2. The oil level is at the full level when I checked the bike cold
  3. Hi. I've got a little problem with my 2001 R6. I was out riding the other day and the oil warning light came on. The bike sounded like it was a bit noisy. Almost kinda sounded like the radiator fans had kicked in or something. In particular the noise sounded like it picked up when I had the bike on lean round a left hander. I got the bike home, checked the level and it seemed low so I went to get some oil. A couple of days later I've gone back to the bike and the level's fine.....even a little high The light's no longer on and I've not been out on it since Has anyone experienced anything similar or has an idea what the problem might be?
  4. Well I've solved the problem, after a fashion I changed out the neutral switch for a new one and replaced the wire and connector and bingo, my neutral light now works and the starter will turn over however the bike won't actually fire, the starter just turns over If I bring the kickstand up then the bike will fire. I don't have to have the clutch pulled in, it will start without Is this normal?? Surely I should be able to start the bike with it sat on its kickstand???
  5. Hi, I've just got a 2001 R6 and have a small problem........more of an annoyance really The neutral light doesn't work and I can only start the bike when the side stand is up and the clutch is pulled in. I presumed that the neutral switch is faulty so took a look at it last night and can see that the previous owner has done a bodge. The right-angled connecter has been removed and a ring connector taped onto the end of the wire and wrapped in sparky's tape. They've then tapped a thread into the end of the switch and secured the ring connector with a screw I gave the inside end of the neutral switch a clean with some brake cleaner to make sure that it was operating freely but still no dice. Does anyone know if this is a common problem?

    Hello

Fair enough Well I think that my relationship with my mother and the other women in my family may have something to do with my general caddishness and lack of respect for women and my use of them as sex objects. I also think that if I could find the love of a good woman I might be able to lay these demons to re................... Oh...you were kidding

    R6 Newbie

Hello I've just bought myself a 2001 R6 and I've heard that a steering damper is a pretty good idea. Can anyone suggest which is a good one to get and what's involved in fitting one?
