  1. If you can get a master cylinder from a Genesis FZR (ie; pre-EXUP) then they are the same.
  2. Quite correct, excuse my less than specific post. I was assuming that the lock barrel had been previously replaced for some reason, possibly due to the fact that I've had to change quite a few recently for the second or third time (I don't refit using sheer bolts, I use TX security head bolts).
  3. The oil should be fine, although I think 10/40W would be the ideal choice. If you are constantly popping into neutral, it would suggest to me that the clutch is not dis/engaging properly. This may be a simple clutch cable adjustment at the lever end. It could also mean a worn clutch. I would have a play with the adjuster first and see if it makes a difference.
  4. IIRC, there is a flange on the barrel with two bolt holes. The bolts screw in to the underside of the top yoke. Once these bolts have been removed, just tap the top of the barrel downwards with a rubber mallet and it should pop out.
  5. R1 calipers will require a bit of modding to fit unless they are the early Blue Spot ones as on the Thunderace, Thundercat and early R6. As you don't have an EXUP to worry about on the Genesis model, I could recommend a full stainless exhaust with Delkovic downpipes and end can of your choice. The downpipes should cost no more than £200 direct from Delkovic. You may need to re-jet the carbs to suit though. Apart from that, an aftermarket air filter element to fit the original air box would improve things a bit. I wouldn't recommend removing the air box to fit cones though.
  6. As long as the seat is secure and will not fly off on it's own, then it won't be a problem. As long as your tyre has a minimum of 1mm tread depth around 3/4 of the tyre width, then that will also not be a problem.
  7. IIRC, there are a couple of small plastic fairings under each dise of the seat that need to be unclipped to gain access to the seat securing bolts. Either that or you have to lift the back corners of the seat to gain access.
  8. An extremely rare beast to find in the UK. I've only ever come across two, both Jap imports like yours. Athough I didn't de-restrict them, IIRC the restrictors are on the carb slides. However, you may also need to increase the size of the main jet.
  9. OUCH! That sounds pretty awful. It does sound to me as though it is running dry. Are you certain of good oil circulation?
  10. It could be a simple thing like brake pads binding or it could be wheel bearings. Difficult to say without hearing it and knowing exactly where it is coming from.
  11. Extremely rare to find one IME. The 750 didn't become really popular until the YZF750 was launched. Without knowing the condition and seeing the bike for myself, the only advice I can offer is HAGGLE!
  12. Really? I would be interested to hear your reasons. I have been with Devitt for 9 years now and I have never experienced any issues however minor.
  13. The SP was the tricked up version
  14. I have the Thunderace (1996), R6 (2002), FJR (2007) and the RSV (2009) on one policy with Devitt. F/C, full NCB, lid 'n' leathers up to £5k, unlimited Euro cover, all the legal crap. £25k worth of bikes, plus about £5k in accessories, insured for £384.78 :D :D :D
  15. If it was a 250, I'd be biting your hand off bud Especially it it was the SP <drool>
  16. I would say £950 is a pretty fair price but don't put your hopes on it selling for that. I'd be prepared to take £850 for it.
  17. Nice specs Personally though, I won't use Intel or NVidia again, hence AMD and ATI. I have found Intel and NVidia to be too unreliable in the past, whereas I have never experienced problems with AMD or ATI. I have also found SATA HDDs to be better than IDE and I can pick up a Seagate 1TB SATA HDD for less than £75
  18. I'm thinking along the lines of: Foxconn Destroyer 780a SLI Socket AM2+ onboard VGA 7.1 channel audio ATX Motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 940 3GHz Socket AM2+ 6MB L3 Cache Processor Sapphire VAPOR-X HD4870 2GB GDDR5 HDMI DVI VGA PCI-E Graphics Card Seagate 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache Sony BDU-X10S Blu-Ray BD-ROM SATA Black Internal Sony DRU-860S 22X DVD?RW DL & DVD-RAM Serial ATA Black Drive Zalman VF1000-LED Quad Heatpipe VGA Cooler The case also has allowance for 2x 120mm and 2x 80mm fans so I doubt cooling will present any problems If I need extra cooling, I'll go water cooled
  19. With your other problems, it sounds like your carbs need stripping, cleaning and re-jetting
  20. I'm always weary of bungs that mount on brackets. I've known brackets to shear off in an accident resulting in extensive damage. If it's got to be bracket fit, R&G is the only way to go. In fact, I wouldn't use anything other then R&G ever. On the FZ600, R&G make ones that bolt directly to the engine by removing the original casing bolt.
  21. Having had a shuffle round, and being moaned at by the better half ("You won't be able to upgrade it ", etc, etc), I've decided to do a custom build tower. Toying with various ideas for spec at the mo but so long as my graphics card supports graphics shader, that's all I'm fussed about.
  22. Ebay is always a good source of cheap pattern and second hand genuine parts for the FZ600s. What bits are you after?
  23. I use Tesco for my fuel, always have. Never encountered any water-in-fuel issues. It's just the same as Esso, that's who they buy it from
