  1. i can smell chav talk  well, im on a ybr125, beat a subaru impreza, in the rain!  i think barwell's idea is the best thing ive heard all day! wait to get a bigger bike, that way, spend money on that, it'll have a better result just my 2 cents.. uzi_999
  2. was a verbal punch sorry i couldnt be of much help, if no luck by the next few days, post up here, ill take the dust seals off, and take a measurement for u mate but would it mean having to drain it, and would it be a somewhat big job? u reckon i can take measurements wihtout making a pig's ear of it?
  3. hope this helps.. pls bear in mind that i measured it as accurate as i could with a accurate measuring tape.. i dont have one of them vernier gauges and the second picture, thats as descriptive as i could get it, without having to pull things apart.. the mesurement is around the curve, i.e. imagine a string pressed up against the curve - the mesurement of that portion of string.. hope this helps mate.. *edit - just checked up Wemoto - none there!! they stock lots of parts for MANY bikes.. never ordered from them, so dont know about delivery and customer satisfacion.. or you can try ringing a yamaha dealer - i was suprised when i found out my speedo cable cost £11 from the yammy dealer, that was cheaper than ebay
  4. i may be able to help, but need to know which bits to measure.. within a few hours, ill have it measured and back up, ill measure these three distances for u: hope it helps
  5. a long post (hope u dont get bored reading it ) got my ybr a while ago, and I LOVE IT TO BITS.. such a sweety, a pleasure to ride, and cheap to run!! have to say, you made a wise choice going for the ybr.. mine did not have a toolkit in it, but ive put my own little set in it's place.. its located under the left side panel (left, if your sitting on the bike), theres a little black slider you'll need to slide across, stick the key... (sorry just read your post properly, and figured that you got to it.. ) erm, there isnt some sort of rubber strap securing it in, id assume so; theres no bits for a strap to clip onto on my bike.. try pulling it gently.. the box that the toolkit should sit in, is plastic on my bike shouldnt be very hard to get back in, you'll figure it out.. ybr125's are very easy to clean and maintain.. make sure u check the oil level, chain slackness, and the tyre pressures often.. instructions are definately in the handbook, mines down in the bike's house (garage) at the mo, but yamaha had it on their website.. fairly straightforward.. talking about tyres, if you have the stock factory tyres on it, PLEASE pls pls get them changed.. everybody recommends the michelin pilot sporty's or pirelli city demons.. ive got a pair of michelin m45's.. the stock tyres are absolute pants in the rain [unless they finally decided to give good ones nowadays - pls post up which ones they are - should say on the side - i think the stock ones were something along lines of meltezer or some chinese name] (a search up on google will lead u to many threads explaining this, and giving recommendations - but they'll just say the ones ive mentioned above; pilots, or city demons) to wash it, i wash mine about once a week, gets really grimey riding around london, and now its the summer, expect a few flies on the headlight.. *CLICKY* the second post is VERY HANDY - done by goff, a lovely contributor to the community.. An EXCELLENT read!! i personally do not go as deep as goff explains every week, i just use car shampoo, a good scrub, and rinse off, then a layer or two of wax - alloy cleaner on the wheels (pls stay away from them tyre shine products - some claim it may affect grip, and id rather not take risks! ) give it a good brushing in around engine area with same shampoo, and rinse off.. once in a while, i'll spend a few hours, and use wd40, spray it all over engine, a good scrub with a brush, and shampoo and rinse it off, but u can get specific engine cleaners, which would probably be better.. around once a month i'll clean and lube the chain, got a chain cleaning brush like this "the common blue one" and use chain cleaner and then let it all dry off, a little lube on it, go for a blast, let chain warm up, then lube it again.. (cleaner and lube available from motorcycle shops, even online from busters/m&p and the like) hope this helps uzi_999 *edit - thought id add, never use pressure washers - might clean pretty good, but itll do damage to rubber seals, some say dont use a hose pipe - personally, i dont mind a hose pipe, but have pressure very low!!
  6. i second that, and i also cant judge him based on accusations..
  7. not going to give my opinion, else id get slaughtered here (DIDNT JUST SAY THAT!!) but i find it strange how the media were all PEDO and WACKO JACKO, now he's dead, media decide to claim that he is a legend, and he had severe mental and physical problems, and had such a soft and kind gentle heart!! strange, dont u think??
  8. somebody had to beat me to it!! anyhow, its been confirmed now, was in a coma, but now he has defo moved on music as an entity has been scarred forever.. and may he live on in our hearts and thru our speakers.. he will forever be a legend in many of our minds, and no matter who says what, he was innocent, he had a soft heart, and didnt mean harm.. maybe a bit twisted, but that was mentally, but thats not there for people and the media to try to take his money.. he was talented, and forever will his music inspire people!! rest in peace michael we'll miss u forever
  9. HAHA pure class comedy, right there!! keep up the bombay wars!!!
  10. thanks for clearing that up mate right mikemadbaz, my diagram should be fine, but test it off the bike first.. take a look at that pdf i linked to in the earlier post (in this thread) for info on relays.. hope it helps and best of luck with the project mate..
  11. then i'd recommend trying out my diagram.. but first, check if your ike is negative switched.. (basically, the +ve to the headlight for example, is always live. The switch determines wether the -ve is connected - cars are wired this way and so i assume motorcycles MIGHT be, im not sure tho, hence i asked you to check first) If that is not the case, let me know, and i'll slightly modify the diagram.. But whatever the case, connect it all off the bike, make sure it works then start installing..
  12. thanks buddy.. Next time i go for my blasts ill swing by (although my blasts may not be what you all know as a blast cos its a 125 - but soon )
  13. does it have built in relays?? if so, pls pls pweeeeeeeze can i have a link/item code, theres so much i could do with it on my poor little 125 ermm, the horn, the full beams, and ermm, the third can be.. (we'll decide later )
  14. hold on, its not like u mentioned as stock, is it??
  15. Exactly what i was thinking mate.. If there are switches on it, im pretty sure that it must have relays, unles somebody done a bodged up jobbie on it! Anyhow, in my somewhat silly looking diagram, spst is single pole single throw - a normal switch, on/off.. spdt would be a switch, both ways on, but switch on a different circuit (most also have an 'off' position) a relay is like a "switched switch" - basically, a current is passed thru the relay, and due to that, another circuit is made complete.. a pdf with more info on relays *clicky*
  16. hi all, i suppose if u can get the mirror unit open (without cracking the plastics - if it can be opened, that is) just take the old piece down to the mirror shop/glazer and ask em to cut you a piece of that size.. tigerseal it shut again (but beware, it aint gonna come apart again after using tigerseal!) or i suppose u can just use silicone (but not as strong) hope his helps
  17. Studio de création graphique Graphéine
  18. so it must be a somewhat BIG switch then??! What lights are on there now? sidelights, and a headlight (with full and dipped beams)?? Ive done a quick draft diagram, but this is negative switched (i think bikes have negative switched circuits [can somebody pls clarify] (ill be able to check mine over the weekend)) and this diagram applies, if you want sides, full and dipped beams..its a rough diagram, if u swing by an auto electrician, theyll be able to figure out from my diagram.. otherwise, let me know, and ill get the relay info (i.e. which pin is what).. i wouldnt mind meeting up, and lending a hand, but im afraid that lincolnshire is a bit too far from my shire, london.. any questions, pls dont hesitate to gimmie a shout mate.. or if anyhting is unclear mate, lemme know.. later on tonite, ill stick up a quick jargon buster here, like what spst and spdt is all about, and what realys do (if youre interested mate - just gimme a shout via this thread) hope it helps mate. uzi_9999
  19. Buzz marketing internet Graphéine clicky if you dont get the gear lever bit.. im starting to enjoy this movie making now right, considering foamy gone for his RAF thing, i was thinking if we could all chip in a penny or two, and get him enough for a gear lever?? (hope he dont read this tho ) any ideas?
  20. PMSL at all these bombay tv clips!! HAHAHAAAA, my dad would probably know all the original movies theyre from!! I can just about understand the language, but the subtitles  keep it up ppl
  21. where abouts are you located mate? and has the bike already got working lights and relay(s)??
  22. Hi Baz, Maplins (a right old ripoff) was right tho, u'll need a relay.. You should be fine with two switches: sw#1- for the sides/beams/off - youll need a spdt (make sure they lock in both on positions, and have an off in the middle - 3 positions in total) sw#2- for selecting dipped beam/full beam - again a spdt (and the same brackets note as above) (i'll get u the exact maplin codes for switches if u want, just lemme know, PM if u want, or just lemme know on this thread) youll also need ermm, 3 relays: sidelights, dipped beam, full beam.. there MUST be, and most definately are relays that can be used for all three, but in not too sure with the wiring on them.. ill get my gfx tablet out, and knock up a few quick diagrams matey for what i propose!! *watch this space* ill have it knocked together by midday-ish..
