  1. could try here; http://www.motorradlack.de/ I suggest using an on-line translator if you don't spraken ze deutch
  2. no problem, do a forum search for online manuals as I must have listed them a few times Drewpy
  3. should just fire right up on first kick! mine does (on half choke in UK summer) why don't you get a manual and have a go tuning it yourself as its pretty easy and you'll get a lot more enjoyment from your bike! If any timing etc is wrong It'll be a bugger to start, whats the power like and how smooth is the engine? get a compression check .
  4. the VJMC helps with that sort of thing. Its best to conact them!
  5. have you tried sirrius online NRP carbs motoward Jim Patch 01935 881817
  6. try here: http://www.repairmanualclub.com/
  7. 1) If you have screw caps or a circlips for the top of the stantions to hold in the springs, take these off first as its easier to do when on the bike. take off front wheel, loosen the pinch bolts and the stantions should just twist down. I would suggest raising the bike further off the ground to prevent them bottoming out on the ground. 2) to take off the stantions from the sliders, there usually is a capscrew socket underneatth. If you don't "snap" it on first attempt, the insides just start turning and you need to make up a lonnnnggg tool out of tubing. I also put the spring back in and with my back to the wall, pushed the spring in via slider, and turned the capscrew off that way. clean everything out and heat up the old seal and prise out with a tyre lever (taking off clip first). to knock back in, use a plastic water pipe of the right diameter for the seal (ie outer, not soft inner) 3) No idea!!! 8. there's not a lot really, Motad exhausts, and the cams mentioned previously. you can go twin disk up front using SR 500 left fork and caliper with an xs1100 master cylinder. the yam xs's were pretty much perfect as they came. there was even a Yamaha sponsered race in Germany called the Yamaha Cup and these used XS400's for a time. These came with full fairing and plastic combined tank/seat unit. everthing else was standard.
  9. Durex, machine= mens toilets in red lion
  10. pilot system too lean. do a search on forum, talked about plenty of times
  11. not really, the wire from the switch was already there, being part of the left switch loom. I just had to buy some japanese type bullets and solder tup o the ignition switch by copying the old one I had.
  12. I'm using 10w 40. I did use 20w50 and if you have really hot weather then i would go for that. I use semi-synthetic as full synth with make your clutch slip!! the best tyres i have in use are Bridgestone BT45, the RD boys recommend these as well As far as tuning goes Megacycle cams do a reprofiled cam for the xs click here for specs etc try bike bandit as they will list your bike and also publish data. 13. Wecome! Keep your eye on the garage as mods go in there Drewpy
  14. # check your valves as they could be leaking/mal adjusted pilot screws as a keyster kit from sirrius online in canada or I got a set from motoward yamaha dealer (just google)
  15. I use the smallest i could find with a see thru bit so I know I can check for fuel (if the bike starts mis behaving) on the move.
  16. re-check your clutch actuating mechanism has been installed the right way round and is fed correctly with the screw part. Also check the "fingers" of the clutch basket that they are not ridged as this will prevent the plates separating. you can dress them a bit but not too much or the plates will start chattering.
  17. gasket from here POR 15 is the stuff you want for sealing, check the prices and compare with the quote.
  18. the springs should measure 34.6mm free length. if they measure 1mm less than this, then they should be replaced. Is the mushroom head on the end of the rod? check for warped plates using a sheet of glass
  19. yep they control idle to 4 - 41/2 K revs. my bike used to rev on idle which means too lean. just richen up on the pilot screw.(after you have unblocked it)
  20. just get them ultrasonically cleaned, you can buy cheap ones, but big enough for your carb and they also clean your dentures!!!
  21. I suspect the ball bearing at the end of the pushrod is missing
  22. UK bikes don't have relays. the 4th wire feeds the main beam pass switch. I had to solder an extra wire from the ignition switch live to the pass switch on the left side and back to the headlamp main beam.
