  1. Good to hear its fixed :D That would have been the first thing I did after the new bulb didnt work ie check the 'new' bulb with the meter.

i checked it with 2wires on the batery, high beam worked, they only have two pins on them bulbs so didnt know how to check the lower beam if that makes sense ;)

  2. I used to do sparky work till i knackerd my back and if i had a quid for every time i heard 'but its a new bulb' i'd be a bloody millionaire.

have you not ever bought a bulb that didnt work,

  3. I can't remember how many years ago it was but when the petrol tanker drivers went on strike it nearly brought the country to a standstill. There was panic everywhere at the petrol pumps.

Of all the strikes this country has had I think that has been the worst. I was even using my lawnmower petrol to top up the bike. What really sucks is when the strikers hurt the innocent public, Their problem has nothing to do with us but it is we that suffers!

Going back even longer, I was working the pumps in the seventies when petrol was rationed to £2.00 per customer. There were nearly fights at the pumps by customers demanding more petrol. On a lighter side a lady driver pulled in and after filling her with £2.00 worth of petrol she asked me to check her oil, I pulled her dipstick out, wiped it with my rag and noticed that the oil was low so jokenly said "you need a longer dipstick"

"Do you sell them?" she asked.

take a page out the french book,

  6. i will put the tester on it tomorow just wonted a lazy way out thanks

thanks to you all for your help i took it to the docs he put new bulb in, no change so he put the multimetre and did just wot i did, comfirmed alls ok so he put another bulb in and yes 3 bulbs later. thought it was a loom prob: so thanks again for your help guys.

  7. Course it can...but there again it could be another reason, it could even be that the new bulb jou put in is no good! you really need a wiring diagram (usually found in manuals), a multimeter and an understanding of both these things to begin fault-finding properly...otherwise its just buying other bits like a relay and taking pot luck

i will put the tester on it tomorow just wonted a lazy way out thanks

  8. Confused...what do you mean "high beam works n dip works " ,?

sorry the small bulb works the head light dont work the main or pass light works

    can it be the relay

  11. hi everyone, i know this could be a simple problem, but i took my bike out today for the first time in the rain, i only had the bike 3 days, it is a 1998 dt 125, for some reason it keeps just dying on me as i ride down the road, i went for a ten mile ride and it must have died about 5 times, anyone could help me would be greatly apreciated. ;)

check your airfillters mite need new ones

  12. Once again the age old excuse came out

I got knocked off my bike last night , some p**** pulled straight across front of me without even slowing down .

i'm now laid up in bed unable to walk , damaged ligaments and muscles in both legs from knee down . amazingly i've not got so much as a scratch anywhere else thanks to leathers , and my legs would have been much worse but my boots took a lot of the impact, how anyone cant see a yellow bike with headlights on when its getting dark is beyond me .

anyway my fz600 is now a complete write off , only had it a week , and it looks like im gonna be laid up for weeks til i can walk right again , doc said my left leg should be a lot better in a few days an should be able to get round on crutches then , but right legs is bugered at minute think thats where i went into car and think i landed on it too .

all because some moron didnt slow down and look before turning across my lane

hopefully its straight forword and you get like for like as you had it les then 3months well got well soon as the sun is up good luck

  14. Hi everyone.

ive noticed that when passing other bikers they will nod or tilt their head to the side, kind of like the frenchies' "waving of the leg" greeting. just a casual observation... thought i would point it out, is this a nationally recognised greeting or just unique to a select few bikers?

same i nod too, scooters i dont but at the lights i do reply if they talk to me

my miss dont understand y but she likes it

  17. Hi folks!

Great to find a forum with people that share the interest for Yamaha MC's.

After years with XL600R and later Elefant 750 - I was looking for something more "urban" and reliable to commuter to work in the city. I fell in love with the Yamaha MT-03, but was uncertain of it because I'm rather tall (1,90 cm).

Going to the local Yamaha dealer to test-sit one, it felt surprisingly OK.

After a good offer from the delaer I bought a new bronze MT-03 with Leo Vince exhaust ("low-power / 35 bhp instead of "high-power" / 45 bhp, because of local taxes, and because I have been told that it's easy to adjust it).

Haven't yet got it, because it's still plenty of snow in the streets up here in cold Norway.

Have therefore not even test driven it. Exciting to find out how it's really like..... Really hope I'm not to tall for this rather small bike. Any tall guys here with MT-03 experience???

    Kind regards

    Thomazo

hi welcome hope the roads clear for u soon ride safe

  18. ....is nor more!

i went out all afternoon sunday: Abergavenny, Talgarth, Builth Wells, Llandindrod, Newtown. Coming back i was riding through Hereford. oh well, onwards and upwards!
