  1. I had similar issues. Password Reset didn't work. Even used the 'Contact Us' but got no reply Logged on randomly as per Cynic's suggestion which worked Apart from missing the desktop site, I'm having some issues with words not typing and predictive text = a blank word.

    My poor butt...

+1 on Tony Archer. I bought a Mustang Seat for the XVS1300 which the wife still said was uncomfortable - Tony sorted the pillion for her and would've been much cheaper than buying a replacement.

    XT 125

You'd be best off using the money to do a test and buy a bigger cc bike. Don't forget to say hello in the introduction section.

    Big bike time!

I shouldn't mention Suzuki are doing 0% finance over 4 years on new bikes...
  5. Have you thought about some serious customisation of your 1300? I think this website has some examples of 1300s (can't get it to work properly on my mobile) http://www.sscustomcycle.com/gallery/they also sell heaps of accessories
  6. Keep the 1300 and buy some (blacked out) bits from the US to bolt on... The custom (or Stryker as known in the US) is a nice looking bike but not much of a change and as Tasky says, you'll only loose money.
  7. Congratulations on the new addition

    Big bike time!

+1 to above. Test ride as many bikes as you can even if you end up going for a 2nd hand one. Don't rush into buying anything as any bike will seem better than your 125 in terms of power etc. I have a Suzuki V Strom 650 and you can pick them up with low mileage for around £3,500 for the new shape (£7k new), or less for the older shape.
  9. Glad to hear you got a result
  10. If it helps, I paid about £70 fitted for front braided lines on my old Fazer at a local garage. They weren't coated in plastic like some makes mind... (That was Stianio's Harrogate)
  11. You should read this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/insurance/2015/05/the-devil-is-in-the-details-insurers-charge-huge-fees-for-simple-changes?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=oneliner-four&utm_term=26-May-15-v2&utm_campaign=news&utm_content=2 Basically if you think the fee is unfair tell the insurance company and ask for a waiver, if they refuse complain to the ombudsman.
  12. It'll have to be a different format. I could see Guy blasting round in cars but not sure he'd piss about doing daft stuff - if he had to do one of their 'challenges' he'd want to do a proper job, not something half assed. He's always said he's a truck mechanic first and foremost. Maybe he'll do one series before getting fed up.
  13. Something like this http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221439326287?nav=SEARCH You can read up on it here: http://vstar1300.pbworks.com/w/page/5760698/Jack's%20O2%20Mod
  14. I think you're alright with the slip on and air filter without the power command though the O2 sensor mod would help. A full exhaust system will need a power command.
  15. The 1300 never stopped me from filtering... If you go for it and want advice on mods/useful info etc let me know
  16. That's odd as I've read of 1300 belts last 60-80,000 miles. I bet it got damaged by lack of adjustment or the crap stone chippings they use to resurface our roads.
  17. I went for the 1300 from a 125 albeit it was restricted to 33bhp to begin with (throttle stop). The 1300 is a great bike but it is a heavy bugger. I got the 950 a year or so after trading the 1300. The 950 is obviously lighter and the engine is very good but no comparison to the grunt of the 1300. The 950 handles much easier (at least I found it did) but I kept grounding the floorboards - something I never really did on the 1300. The suspension on the 950 seemed quite harsh although I never checked the settings on the rear shock (previous owner might have had it turned up). It depends how you're planning on using the bike. If for short, town riding or round local twisties I'd almost say get the 950. If I was to buy another cruiser I'd go for the 1300 though - not necessarily because it's better but I had one for 3 years so more memories (had the 950 for about 4 months but personal circs forced sale). The 1300 always ran out of fuel at 130-145 miles and is bloody heavy to push (I know from experience) I think I posted a review of both in the Cruiser section 'XVS950 vs XVS1300' or something like that?

    Passed!

Nice one fella. Have fun and take it steady
  20. Tracksuit bottoms or combat trousers work well.
  21. As above, no need to rush. The advice about doing the theory test first is good. Get your bike on the road and get some practice back in, esp as the weather picks up. Once your in the swing of things it might be best to speak to a local instructor. If you've been riding a while you might not need too many lessons.

    Security Mark

I think older datatag markings went like that - my XVS125 had them & datatag stickers too
  23. WTF, why do you need permission from the missus? They're your nuts!
  24. Congratulations fella. Hope all are settling in well at home
  25. My brother had a bee go inside his jacket pocket last summer whilst we were riding. Bugger stung him when he put his hand in the pocket.
