  1. Afraid i've done the unthinkable & been unfaithful to the brand Have always wanted a big twin so went for it. However, I did buy my eldest son a PW50 for his 6th birthday so not a total loss. Will definately get another Fizzer sometime in the future, loved the 2 i've had but just had too much crap with the last one & need a reliable daily runner. Def keep me posted about the NW meet, I'll be heading that way with my mates (even got some free accomodation & secure parking sorted!! )
  2. Cheers, thats why i asked for info before i let anyone near the bike with the kit. Wasnt sure where it stood legally.

    HID lights

Has anyone used a HID light conversion on their bike? I'm using my bike daily on dark rural roads & every bit of extra illumination would be handy. A friend sells the kits & has recommended one but i'm not certain if its good idea. Anyone got any experience / opinions / comments??
  4. Hi Folks! Sorry ive not been about much recently - what have i missed??? Thought I had to share the news that the FZR is gone. Had enough of throwing money at it with no reward so sold it Bought a replacement already, commuting daily which is the whole point! Would love to buy another Fizzer in the future, but would def be as a project instead of daily rider.

    Newbie

Hi everyone! Time to introduce my oldest son Jack to the Yamaha family. He got a PW50 for his birthday last week & loves it to bits - think its the start of many happy miles Now just need to get him some boots & he's sorted!
  6. Firstly - before the mods kick my ass - this is NOT a For Sale ad! I've had an approach from a guy who wants to swop his race/track bike for my FZR. Its also an FZR, but apparently was built by V&M for Jim Moodie as a spare bike for the 1996 North West 200 Production race but never used. Its in good condition, ready to race or for track day use. Its heritage can be verified as genuine (so i'm told). Is there much demand for this kinda thing? Or does anyone wanna buy it?? lol I'm kinda tempted to do the deal but only with the intentions of selling it on straight away to raise funds for another road bike. All opinions welcome! Vic
  7. Hi all. Got the engine back into the Fizzer after its rebuild but have encountered a prob. When try to start bike, can hear the starter relay clicking but nowt else happening. Have replaced the solenoid but no joy. Bike bump starts really easily. If put power straight to starter motor it spins freely. Any ideas? All suggestions welcome! (for info its a 1992 3HE FZR ) Thanks. Vic

    WooHoo !

Hey folks! Sorry not been posting on here much recently, jobhunting was a pain but back to work now which is much better. Anyway - added another Yam to the stable last week when i bought my oldest son a PW50 for his upcoming birthday! Looked around usual sources (ebay, gumtree etc) & found one tucked away in a womans garage. Usual story, kids outgrown blah blah blah. It was a bit rough cosmetically but started on the first kick. So i gave her buttons for it & brought it home! Nice parcel of bits arriving tomorrow to fix any issues & tidy the cosmetics but still works out as a bargain. Hope junior likes it - but he's already bike mad so fingers crossed. Will post pics of bike when overhaul is complete
  9. No, no alarm. Thanks for the info I'll try that test. Can you run without the regulator as it seems to be constant cause of problems?
  10. Thanks OG, i'll try it. Just seems to be one stumbling block after another at the minute!!
  11. Hey all. Need opinions. Bike has been off road while ive been unemployed. Just had full engine rebuild, but still few niggles to iron out. Battery was fully charged on sat & put back in bike, bike put back in garage & not touched. Todays its as flat as a pancake, not even a light or horn. Any ideas how to find the voltage drain or what it could be? Thanks Vic
  12. I'd advise to keep the suspension -unless u live on some silky smooth roads.

    FZR Hugger

Anyone know of a rear hugger that'll fit a 3he fzr? Will one off a foxeye fit? Thanks!
  14. This is DEFINATELY the real deal, one owner since new. I have no doubts of that, plus the fact that it's unrestored and original. That's part of the reason I'd like it so much!
  15. Hi folks, I'm know of a kenny Roberts rd lc sitting, perfect condition, very low miles, totally standard an unmolested. Would love to buy it but unsure of value, thought I'd ask for few opinons? Lovely bike, I'd be ecstatic if could give it a new home Thanks!
  16. Hi all, I wanna replace the throttle cable on my bike while its apart - some bright spark has bodged the adjuster with their expert braising skills and its fecked. Have sourced a supplier, but also seen a set on ebay which are cheaper. The seller on ebay has stated the part number 4TV-26302-00. Going by their crap pics I reckon these are for a Foxeye, not a 3HE like mine but was wondering if anyone can confirm this before i buy from other supplier. I did ask the seller but he said he hadnt a clue - useful guy.... Many thanks as always! Vic
  17. Time to get the negative feedback sorted! Hate wasters like that - should've taken a wheel brace to him
  18. Looks like an early version of the PW50 or similar. Could be wrong tho....
  19. my last FZR was an import & bulbs cost £58 for the pair. Go to a local motor factors, i found them lot more useful than Halfords etc. Ended up finding bulbs i needed were a Jap car headlight bulb!
  20. Welcome! What model BSA was it? I've had the pleasure of few miles on older bikes, BSA Bantam, BSA C15, Velocette 250 MAC etc And I'm proud to say i'm from good old Northern Ireland too! There's a few of us on here.
  21. you need to upload pics to a site like photobucket first, then specify that link in your forum post. its all explained in the help section.
  22. Maybe its only over here, but i had enquired recently about deals on YZF-R125 for my nephew starting out & they were offering free insurance or 0% finance when you placed order!
  23. Thats a really nice bike, not familiar with that model but really like it. Can see a lot of potential for a project....

    poppies

Was very proud when my 5 year old asked if he could wear a poppy. Of course he doesn't understand the symbolism or how important it is (yet), but the look of pride on his face when he's wearing a poppy made me very proud too.
